Charlotte Perkins Gilman was an early 20th century American social reformer. She wrote non-fiction, poetry, short stories, and novels. This utopian novel was first published in 1915. In the novel a remote group of Aruan women have decided to reproduce by parthenogenesis. The conclusion is a social order free from war, conflict, and domination.
