"Please God, if you're listening, keep Rachel safe." She couldn't turn her back on her family in their time of need. So when her sister was injured, financial expert Andrea Hampton traded the big city for Amish country to help turn her grandmother's house into an inn. But life with the Plain People took a treacherous turn when a string of accidents and pranks threatened her family. Someone didn't want the secrets the old house harbored to come to light. Trusting anyone-even the handsome carpenter who seemed so genuine-was a battle for Andrea, but her life depended on her ability to find the truth.
This is a great book about family, friends, and loyalty and even a romance thrown in. It touches on the struggle of a corporate job and the things that go along with that lifestyle verses the lifestyle the Amish live. It talks about family allegiance. It is such a good, clean, fun romance and has some suspense in it as well.
I loved it! Going back to the basics

This e-book wasn't even long and it took me ages to finish it. Perhaps it's just me and this isn't my usual cup of tea the reason it took me so long to finish the story. Felt like I was watching a LIFETIME TV movie. As a matter of fact, I'm sure it's been made into one.

In fact, Andrea Hampton is rushing to her sister's hospital bedside, and there's something about cars and buggies and accidents that tugs at the heartstrings long before it's made clear. There's something about the rugged stranger who comes to Andrea's aid as well, though neither of them seems overly impressed with the other.
The scene moves to a welcoming guest house amongst peaceful Amish farms. This reader's hooked; there's a dog! And there's history, of course, and problems, to drive what becomes a pleasantly believable tale of memory and fear, guilt and forgiveness, and the tender mercies of love. Descriptions come naturally through the characters' eyes and paint themselves in the readers', creating delightful scenes and fascinating people.
Friends and neighbors speculate about who the mysterious Cal Burke might be, while family speculate on the future of Grams' business venture, and a strange intruder seems to mount a campaign of almost accidents. Meanwhile Andrea juggles work duties with family, trying to learn which really comes first. It's a lesson well-learned with an answer that, like true friendship, was always hiding in plain sight.

The characters are very believable and I'm sure the relationship between the sisters will be further explored in the next books. I'm looking forward to them.

Andrea is met by many obstacles when she returns.
Finding out her Grandmother doesn't have the resources to live without the bed & breakfast she's trying to start is a huge stumbling block.
Realizing that she's leased the barn for next to nothing is another.
Then there are the odd things: getting locked in a closet, upset guests, and missing books.
What is going on?
Will she ever be able to look any anyone and not wonder if they're the one causing this?
This is a very cute book.

I outgrew Harlequin romance novels years ago but this was free and I thought why not? Not the worst book I have ever read but very typical and predictable and certainly could have used my time reading something better. However, if your a fan, this is typical Harlequin. Good characters and it did keep me reading to the end but again I would not pay for it.
