Overview

He wore nothing but a leather tunic, spoke in an ancient tongue . . . and he was standing in Professor Meredith Foster's living room.

The medieval historian told herself he was part of a practical joke, but with his wide gold belt, callused hands, and the rabbit roasting in her fireplace, the brawny stranger seemed so . . . authentic.

Suddenly Meredith was mesmerized by his bronzed, muscular form, and her body surrendered to the fantasy that Geirolf Ericsson really was a Viking from a thousand years ago, sent only to pleasure her. But as she tried to teach him to eat spaghetti and use a computer, she realized he knew an awful lot about the tenth century—and so little about this one. And as he helped her fulfill her grandfather's dream of re-creating a Viking ship, he awakened her to dreams of her own. Until she wondered if the hand of fate had thrust her into the loving arms of . . . The Last Viking

    LOVED IT!!!

Rolfe(the Viking) was propelled by accident from the tenth century-997 into the twentieth century-1997. His ship was sunk near Greenland and he washed up on the shores of Maine. He found himself in a whole different world. This is where he meets up with Meriedith, a tenth century-Viking researcher who works at the college nearby. Rolfe is fasinated at the way things have changed in a thousand years and soon has you rolling on the floor laughing with the things that he does and the things that happen to him and Merry-Death... pronounced LOL...Sandra Hill is an excellent writer and she is kinda new to me still, but she already my favorite writer now. She has a witty and unique sense of humor I have never in my life read before. She has a way of making her heros so sexy and so sweet, yet so masculine you find yourself wishing these men were real. Her heroines are always strong and funny. 'The Last Viking' is a must for those who love timetravel romance and those who love comedy. The story is moving and I found myself crying and laughing. Rolfe is sexy and hysterical and you will love the way he handles himself in the twentieth century. Things we take advantage of in our modern world he finds amazing and the story makes you think more about your own life and surroundings. There is a sequel to this story about his brother Jorund, it's called "Truly, Madly Viking". Both are 5 star reads!

    Gotta Love the S-Spot!!!

It took me a little while to finish this book, not because it wasn't good but because there were a lot of releases lately that I couldn't wait to read. Any who, this was a great Viking romance. I was a little annoyed with the heroine but our hero made up for her lack of personality. If you like Vikings, Oreos, and Tim the Tool-man Taylor, then you're going to love this book. It was happy, it was sad, and most of the time it was funny.

    Phenomenal!

Wow! This story was hilarious, heartwarming and who wouldn't want sexy Viking.....mmmmm!! Absolutely enjoyed how the author translated Rolf's words. Funny! (ie: Mereith to Merry Death) The banter between the two main characters was fantastic!

fans of the Sandra Hill's Viking saga will enjoy the romance

In 997 Jarl Eric Tryggvason sends his son Geirolf Ericsson on a mission. However, Storr Grimmsson killed his mates and left him to die at sea. He floats holding on to "Ingrid" during a storm. When he awakens he still grips Ingrid's massive breast until he sees salvation in a ship he dubs Fierce Destiny.

In 1997 Maine, Medieval History Professor Meredith Foster argues with grad student Mike Johnson over placing a big boob naked Goddess as the figurehead of her tenth century replica of a Viking vessel. When she meets gigantic Geirolf who calls her "Dock-whore Merry-death", she knows he is odd but assumes he is a friend of Mike. Rolf knows something is not right but he likes his Merry-death. As he struggles with common late twentieth century items like shampoo and enjoys Oreos, the Last Viking and Merry-death fall in love, but he believes he must finish his millennium old mission if he can get back in time.

The reprint of a 1998 time travel romance is filled with word play, confusion and misunderstanding as the Viking adapts but remains bewildered with indoor plumbing and malls as large as a village. Although the plot is thin as the jocularity rarely turns serious except when he ponders why he was sent forward in time, fans of the Sandra Hill's Viking saga will enjoy the romance between the last Viking and Dock-whore Merry-death.

love, laughter, and tears...the perfect combination

Sandra done it again. She wrote a very wonderful book. I loved the love scenes, fell in love with the characters, and cried when I had to. This book backed up my feelings of love knowing no time nor space. Have read her other books and fell in love with them too. Hope she keeps writing for years and years.

    Riotous Laughter and Weak-Kneed Love

The first half of this book rocked me with laughter, and the last half left me so weak with the love scenes I could hardly get out of my chair. This is a keeper!!

Funniest book I have ever read

The Last Viking ,is a well organized and detailed book with a story line to match, but the humor and fun of the book it was kept me from putting it down waiting to see what would happen next. This is a definite must read.
