The Mage

This is an excellent ending to a great saga

Morganen, the last single brother of four sets of twins born two years apart, has observed each of his siblings reach their part of the fulfilling the Curse of Eight Prophecy; at times with his help. In terms of the big Destiny, everything has gone the way it is supposed to, but the biggest quest is left; his and he knows not one of his siblings or their respective soul mates can help him achieve his destiny and complete the prophecy.

His beloved Hope comes through the portal from the dimension ruled by Queen Kelly. However, what Morg expected about his soulmate proves false. Instead Hope is the Duchess Haupanea of Nightfall, who vanished without a trace two centuries ago. As their enemies try to thwart the siblings from achieving their goal of Nightfall declared a kingdom, Morg knows his beloved is the one weapon the enemy can use to declare their efforts null and void; as she is the Duchess of Nightfall.

This is an excellent ending to a great saga as the key overarching thread that ran through the seven siblings' books reaches a crescendo climax. Jean Johnson proves she is the Mage as romantic fantasy fans will salute one of the best sagas in years and if anyone is as fickle as this reviewer is will ask what next?

Not a fan of this series

I found them all long and tedious. The woman were all too strong for their men. Once they finally come together, it seems the men all take a back seat and have no voice... Wouldn't recommend this series. I was glad when it was over...

The end of a series

I have read the whole series and though I enjoyd it initially, I was sort of relived when it was finally over. Having to wade through 8 books to find resolution was a little tedious for me as there was a lot of repetition throughout. That being said, I would certainly read any forthcoming books authored by Ms. Johnson.

A little disappointing, but still a good read.

I long awaited this final book in the Sons of Destiny series, and was somewhat disappointed in it. Hope was not what I was expecting, and was a fairly dull character to me. The story was almost anti-climatic. Compared to the other seven books in the series, this one is my least favorite.

Mixed feelings

I read book two and was instantly hooked and wanted to find out about all the brothers and there destiny. This is where my feelings get mixed. I did not enjoy this series. I endured until the end. They lost me when they started making magic cell phones. I read the entire series because I wanted to know how it would end. I did like the characters and their love stories. If you read the first book and you like it read the whole series. If you don't like the first book dont bother with the rest.

Poor

I bought the first book in this series....and took it back. The premise had a lot of promise but, for me, it was unreadable. The characters were poorly drawn, the dialog stilted. After about four pages, I knew I couldn't read the book.

Because I read a lot of books, I didn't remember the author or the series when the second to the last book came out. They have great covers and this is the type of book I like, so I bought it. After a couple of pages, I recognized the series but I thought I'd give it another chance. A few more pages, and I was done. I hated it. I have now got Jean Johnson's name firmly in my memory as an author who's work I don't care for. I will not be buying one of her books again.

Highly Recommended

I really enjoy reading this book, it was one of the best out of the books

Loved this entire series

After reading the 3rd book in this series first, I just had to get all the others that were available. Waited impatiently for the last 2 of the series. Can't wait until Jean Johnson writes additional books/series. Loved them.

Sort of a letdown.

After reading "The Flame", this book was sort of a letdown. Characters are okay, plot is predictable and it's all sort of anticlimatic. Overall, okay.

Happy & Sad at the same time!

I really enjoyed this series and I'm so sad to see it end. The Mage was good, but too short. I really enjoyed the twist in the story involving Hope; other than the obvious (that she was going to end up with the last brother). However, I wish the author had gone into more detail about what was happening between the couple and during the extraction of the fountain. Oh well, still a great, quick read.

The perfect ending.

This book was so well written and thoughtout that it was a perfect ending to such a wonderful series. I can't wait to read more by this talented author!

Good end to an Engaging Series

I enjoyed the series and The Mage was a good ending story. The characters are engaging and there is just enough adventure to keep the story rolling.

This series is worth every page!

Jean Johnson has created a series that I will keep in my collection always! The Mage is the excellant ending that this series called for and I loved how everything tied up together. Morg & Hope are the perfect couple and I couldn't wait for their story starting from book 1 (The Sword). I highly recommend this to everyone!!

great ending to a great story

The Mage was everything I thought it would be and more. I am truly sad to see the end of this series.The Mage gives you details to wrap the entire series up and answers all questions that have been lingering in our minds. I can not wait until Jean Johnson starts her new series for the Shifting Plains!!!!

Superb Book

I very much enjoyed this book, this whole series. I recommend it anyone who is looking for a fun, exciting and romantic read

Fantastic Series!!!!!!

I love paranormal romance and read a dozen or so books a month. I read the first book in the series and fell in love with the characters. I eagerly awaited each new addition to the series and I will miss the character after this final installment. The stories have been easy to read and a great escape after a hard day at work. Can't wait to see what Jean Johnson writes next.
