    Blast from the past

    My mother had this cookbook back in the 70's, and I remember making the taco seasoning mix when I was maybe 11 or 12. Would have been nice if the photography would have been updated.

    I have loved these authors since 1980!

    The best thing about this book is that with a little planning, you can save time and money and have a great variety of meals. The recipe for ministrone soup is delicious. I bought each of my three daughters a soup pot and gave them the recipe for ministrone soup. Yum! I gave the book to a friend for her birthday, but had the spine cut off and had a spiral binding added. Great!

    Save time, save money

    I love this cookbook and have bought it for friends and family. Our family favorite is Mexican Meat Mix which can be used in in 8 recipes from the book. Usually we just cook up some tortillas and throw in the meat mix with the usual condiments on top. We usually use pork instead of the beef. It is delicious!I have tried quite a few other mixes in the book also and have been very pleased with them. We use the main dish mixes most often. I just watch for the meat to go on sale and cook up the mix and throw it in the freezer. I usually have 2-3 main dish meat mixes in the freezer so I can cook a great dinner fast. Good home cooking, comfort meals in a flash. I highly recommend it.

    THE book on making mixes!

    I have the 2 original (I think) volumes published many years ago and then I bought the one that is copyrighted 2003. I use both of them often and the recipes all work exactly the way they are represented. The only negative comment I have is that the 2003 and the 2006 editions are identical except for the covers and publishers! So that was a little disappointing. However my 2003 edition is well used.
