A retired police detective is caught up in a web of deceit, murder and intrigue as he is thrust into the center of an insidious plot by homegrown terrorists to hurt America.
Samuel Thomas Gates in his hunt to find the killer of a popular tour guide at Hearst Castle uncovers much more than he bargained for. In his quest for justice Sam is joined by his nephew Ezra, a former Marine and Josie who brings healing to Sam's wounded soul. That healing provides a foundation from which Sam and Ezra work not only to solve a tragic murder but to stop the wholesale slaughter of thousands of innocent people. Their journey takes them from the central California coast to the countryside of France and then to San Francisco where the story has an exciting finish.
Excellent descriptive style with strong characters and motivation. Moves fast and has many unexpected twists. If you desire a mystery to read this summer-invest in this!!
Retired from ministry in the United Methodist Church, I have always been fascinated by a well-told story and have been actively writing in one venue or another for 30 years. My wife and I travel all over the world picking up ideas and locations for my books. I enjoy dreaming up and writing murder mysteries but am also involved in writing devotionals and romance novels with my wife. I am currently writing another murder mystery, Murder at the Ahwanee Lodge (in Yosemite Nat'l Park).
