    Kevin smith...

    Is a god of the independent movie scene. He came up from nothing to become a highly respeccted director and comic book writer. The bonus story of jason mewes aka jay of jay and silent bob fames addiction problems is a hearrt wrenching and brealking read as well.

    A must-read for aspiring Kevin Smith fans and the plain curious

    This is a collection of Kevin Smith blogs previously published on his internet sites, but is nonetheless entertaining. I prefer to do my reading in book form rather than spending all day on the computer anyway, so this was the best way for me to understand the mind of the brilliant Kevin Smith. Although the content can seem to drag at times, due to the inclusion of some of the minutiae of Smith's daily life, the monologue is engaging and hilarious and amazingly candid. I was drawn into wanting to learn more about this versatile writer/director/actor from exposure to his movies and especially his Evening with Kevin Smith DVD series, which are packed with on-stage anectdotes and Q&A sessions about the reality of the film business.

    I believe this book contains the only lengthy account of Kevin Mewes' real-life struggle with heroin addiction, which puts a lot of the Jay & Silent Bob relationship into perspective. Fascinating stuff that is appropriately self-deprecating and a testimony to the power of keeping it real in an increasingly phony day and age.

    Eh....

    I didn't realize when I bought this that I could have just read it all online and saved myself $15. I wish I had. At times I enjoyed the writing and the stories but overall I definitely wasted my money. Love his films, but could have done without the diary...
