Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Jimmy Sniffles solves a crime by sneezing. Jimmy is stuck shopping with his mother (boring). He smells some danger and sure enough a bag of rocks lands by his feet. He reluctantly takes the rocks home with him. All over the news there is talk of these gems that look like rocks. Jimmy has no idea his rocks are gems. He also has no idea that the robbers are after him for the rocks. Unmistakably to him, he is in the middle of a huge adventure but thinks his life as boring as doing laundry. In the end, he throws himself at the robbers, knocking them out as well as his sniffles. He has saved the day and does not know why. This graphic novel is colorfully illustrated. The novel is eye catching and fun to read. The artistic details enhance the story's simple plot. A must read for reluctant readers. After the humorous glossary, there are discussion questions, writing prompts, and internet resources for teaching. 2006, Stone Arch Books, Ages 8 to 12.
