He and his new bride, Shelby, live together as strangers for many weeks, but in time the prince draws closer to her. Yet it never occurs to Shelby, a commoner who married for the sake of her country but who secretly loves him deeply, that the prince's affection could truly turn toward her. By the time he comes to love her, she has walled off her heart to protect herself, and he must tenderly scale that wall.
This moving story of surprising love awakened by committed faithfulness belongs on the shelf of every reader who loves Lori's writing.

I downloaded this book since it was recommended by B&N via the Nook since I like Francine Rivers. I hate to say this because I really wanted to like this book and I try to keep my reviews as constructive criticism, but this book could have been written by a high schooler. Although I'm a Christian, I was a bit put off by the random scriptures thrown in and it was a bit preachy. The relationship between the prince and princess never got developed and I never grew to care about either one. The sexual innuendo was way too vague. I assumed they had not had sex yet, but then in the next chapter, she's pregnant. Huh? I at least wanted a romantic first true kiss scenario. No, I didn't expect some lust ridden escapade written out, but I really had no clue they consummated their marriage until the book told me she got pregnant. The characters were a bit one dimensional and two main folks were Mary Sue and Gary Stu.

I couldn't wait to see what would happen next and found that I couldn't put it down. I couldn't image marrying a complete stranger! Shelby took on the role wonderfully though. She was such a good hearted character and you can't help but love her. It was neat to see them grow and get to know each other. I would recommend this book to everyone! Very worth your time.

The first book I read by this author. Found it to be a sweet and kind of cute read. A little sad near the end. Pretty good read.

I have read this book a million times and I love it! This was the first book I read by Lori Wick and I enjoyed it immensely. This book is a quick read for anytime. This book isn't as deep as I usually like books, but it's good for a little pick me up. Comes highly recommended if you like like romances!

This is an amazing christian romance. Lori Wick has masterfully woven a romantic tale that draws you in, takes you to the place so that you can reallyfeel the story, and refuses to let you go. A vreat book wig n even better message I recomeend The Princess from start to end

I read this book in one night. I had not planned to like this book as much as i did, i honestly couldn't put it down. This was the first book I read by Lori Wick and i was very pleased. I liked how it was about 2 people eventually falling in love but respected and cared for each other first. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading romance but not the clingy, mushie gushie kind of relationship.
