    I love these books!!

    I am a sixth grade student and really enjoyed reading this book by Jim Benton. The main character of this book is Jamie Kelly who is a sixth grade student at Mackerel Middle School. The Dear Dumb Diary series is supposed to be the pages of Jamie¿s actual diaries. She has a very funny way of looking at things and isn¿t shy about saying who or what she does or doesn¿t like.
    In summary, ¿The Problem with Here Is That It¿s Where I¿m From¿ is Jamie telling us about her days at Mackerel Middle School and her ongoing rivalry with Angeline, the prettiest, most annoying girl at school. Jamie doesn¿t like Angeline because she always seems to get whatever she wants and has freakishly long eyelashes. Jamie really likes her best friend, Isabella, and is grateful that she gets to see her so much at school. They get exciting news that something is wrong at another middle school, so students from Wodehouse will be bused over to Mackerel and Jamie likes the idea of meeting new people. Colette is one of the girls from Wodehouse and she is even prettier and more popular than Angeline, which makes Jamie very happy. Later, they find out that Collette put rotten cat food in her school¿s ventilation system because she isn¿t popular or well liked at Wodehouse which is the reason they were moved to a different school. Jamie and Collette continue to be friends, and even though she doesn¿t like it, Angeline thinks Jamie is her friend too.
    This story is set at Jamie¿s home and middle school during the present time.
    The meaning of this story is that middle school is pretty much the same no matter where you go to school.
    I especially enjoyed this book because the way Jamie tells about her days is very funny and she seems like she is just an everyday kind of girl who I can relate to.

    Laugh your pants off!

    My daughter bought this book as part of a series. She loves the Dear Dumb Dairy books. I often find her laughing out loud at them. She tells me she loves the format; you don't have to read a long chapter to stop. Love this book!

    HILARIOUS!!!!!!

    This book is hilarious and always fun to read. It's the type of book you read if you want easy but entertaining reading. This author also wrote the Happy Bunny books and posters.
