I was very displeased with this book after reading it 3-4 times. First of all, the book is supposed to be in the time period of Jane Austen. It doesn't seem to be in that time period at all. It seems as if people from the 20th century were transported to the 1810 time period. Second of all, the writing is horrible. The languaging is all off for the time period, the characters are static, and if you have read any other Lori Wick book, you will see that her books are very similar to each other, especially in character makeup. The Christianity is cliched and not applicable to real life. The only redeeming factor about this book is the romance story. Though that even is a little flat. All in all, not a good read from a very passe author.

Sorry to be the odd person here but I really hated this book! I kept hoping the story might improve with each passing chapter. The plot is totally predictable and unimaginative. I did not find the characters endearing, but rather annoying.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is a great Christian novel that got me picking up my Bible every night. I do not understand how you could say something bad about this amazing book that brought me closer to Christ.

This was my first Lori Wick book I read. I just couldn't put it down. I read this book in just two days. I loved the characters and William and Marianne's story. This is an awesome story about what God can do. What a terrific story of struggle and strength. I instantly loved the characters. I found I was learning with them as the story unfolded.

I have read this series but did not read them in order. I have enjoyed them so much that I am going to have to back track her earlier works and proceed to read them. Hopefully in order.

Lori comes through again with an amazing story of Christ love for his children. A spell bound novel of love, suspense and faith.

I enjoyed this book so much. I loved reading the transformation of William Jennings, from cynic to Christian. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I've read many of Lori Wick's books. Some of them I've read so many times I can flip through to my favorite parts. This book is one of them. I bought it yesterday for a plane ride home and couldn't wait today until I could sit down with it and finish it. It's a heart warming story of a man how reminds me of some of my friends, his quest to right his life and finding God along the way. It really makes you want to fall in love and find that in your own life. You'll want to read it again and again.
