Overview

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Michael Prescott comes RIPTIDE, a powerful new novel of psychological suspense.

Jennifer Silence reads between the lines. A psycholinguistic analyst, she studies documents written by murderers, teasing out hidden clues. But nothing in her life has prepared her for the document that is now in her hands. A leather-bound diary from a crumbling crypt.

The diary of Jack the Ripper.

If it is genuine, it suggests a troubling connection between Jennifer's family and history's most infamous serial killer. A connection that may explain her father's suicide ... and her brother's mental illness. A connection that may implicate her brother in a new rash of killings, and prove that the Ripper's spirit still prowls dark streets and alleys, taking lives ...

And the next victim may be Jennifer herself.

RIPTIDE is the newest thriller from Michael Prescott, whose novels have been hailed as "brilliant ... chilling ... unrelentingly suspenseful" (Publishers Weekly), "harrowing ... intense" (Jeffery Deaver), "irresistible, un-put-downable" (Crescent Blues), and "stunning ... far above the usual offerings for the genre" (New Mystery Reader).

As with all Michael Prescotts books, he keeps you going throughout the book. What a premise including Jack the Ripper as a theme and weaving all the other characters around him. A must read as is all of Michael's books that I have read so far. RH

Riptide is another one of Michael Prescott's books that will not disappoint. The plot is set in the present day and the 19 century, alternating between the two time spans. The idea of possible Jack the Ripper's origins and his venture into the New World with all its evil repercussions is intriguing. If you like mysteries, this one will keep you up reading till the surprising end.

Riveting storyline!! This author takes murder to a level that really got to me. It was almost like he was the murderer with his insights. I have since purchased more of his books because of how he presented the story and characters. I could not put this book down until I finished it!!!

Even though the premise of this book was a bit far fetched, the story was interesting.

Good English countryside tale. It gets a little long in needless detail. But, easy way to pass the day.

The story itself is good. It gives a whole knew thought to Ol' Jack The Ripper. There are, however, several typos and a few serious issues with the time line.
