Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings Another solid romance from RaeAnne Thayne that takes place in Haven Point. This story centers around Wyn who grew up in this small town and returned to honor her family's legacy in law enforcement, but she isn't sure this is her permanent calling. Cade is the chief of police and came from a horrible childhood and always admired Wyn's family and specifically her father which inspired his career choice. Although each may have thought of each other at times, each has been off limits for many reasons. As you know with many romances, the ending is beyond predictable, but of course as I always say - the journey is so worth it! I had a special place in my heart for this book as both characters are in law enforcement. I loved seeing their story unfold and their passion for the community. I felt like in this book more than others, I was able to get to see the town more - especially through their eyes.

What a wonderful, heartwarming story set in Haven Point, Idaho. From the sounds of it, Wynonna Bailey has been pining for her brother's best friend and father's protégé for years. The chemistry between police officer Wynonna (Wyn) and Police Chief Cade is obvious from the start, but Wyn has never had an inkling if the feelings she has for Cade would ever be reciprocated. I chuckled at the description of Cade being a two grill man, as I am married to one of those myself. I completely understand the idea that certain things are better on a Weber! Haven Point would seem to be such a bucolic spot, but they have big city troubles like anywhere else, making a fully staffed police department a must. Even a new neighbor’s reticence sets Wyn’s antenna buzzing. It helps that she can keep an eye on them, and that Cade is across the street. I liked the gentle way in which Thayne handled the memory of the Bailey patriarch. A longtime policeman and chief of police, John Bailey definitely had an impact on this small community and those that loved him.

I read Snow Angel Cove, the first book in this series, and then somehow I missed the next couple. No surprise, right? Well, the good news is that it didn’t matter for this story. You can pretty much drive right in and enjoy. While this is technically a romance, I’d like to say it has more of a woman’s fiction vibe because it is about so much more than the hero and heroine getting together. There is a lot of soul searching going on by both Cade and Wyn. And don't expect a suspense feel, because even though they are cops there is very little in it for cases they are working. Although she does a great job of throwing in a little danger at the end just to keep things exciting :) After she has a near death experience, Wyn does a lot of looking at her life and making big decisions about where she is & where she’s going. She’s content but not happy and vows to fix that. I enjoyed getting to know her and being part of that journey. She’s a fine officer and a good friend, but she’s just not in the right place for her any more. And it only has a little to do with the crush she has on her brother’s best friend. Cade had to overcome a lot from his childhood. His family doesn’t have the best track record for staying out of trouble but thanks to the Baileys he was able to turn things around. Except he still sees himself as a no-good Emmett. Unfortunately almost losing Wyn has him thinking things that he shouldn’t and he’s fighting his feelings tooth & nail … of course, he is :) I like that Thayne has his growth be about more than just his relationship with Wyn. He’s got some re-evaluating about his feelings for himself as well. I do kinda feel like I would have liked a little more to the ending but I think that being a part of a series means that you get some of that closure in future stories as characters reappear in other books. We get a complete story here but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what’s next in store for these two. And what happens for a few of the secondary characters as well. Which I guess means that makes this a winner, huh? (Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review)

This is the 4th book in the Haven Point series - set in a small town in Idaho. This plot highlights a growing romance in the police department between Officer Wyn Bailey and Chief Cade Emmett. I liked how the story showed that the 2 characters knew each other since childhood and how their past histories impacted their current situations. A nice G-rated romance with guest appearances of characters from past books. (Thanks to Judie of the Review Crew for the copy of this book!)

Heartfelt, honest, and raw story, that pulled me in from the first moment, until I was completely lost in it. The story touched every emotion, from tears, to smile, sigh, and swoon, until I was laughing out loud. The small town spirit, the support and love they offer to each other, just touched me to the core. The family, with all the drama and trouble, yet loving and supporting when needed. And the police force, the lives of the small town officers, the duties, trouble, danger, and service they provide. Really, a tribute to the force, that so willingly puts themselves in danger, so we would be safe. I admit, the first 8% of the book, I was a sobbing mess. The danger and angst, the fear and unthinkable possibilities, had on the edge, holding my breath. The ambience the author has created is compelling. You want to be one of them, you want to share the danger, drama, troubles, and mundane tasks. Wyn and Cade, they have the connection, they have the chemistry, they are attracted to each other, and the feelings they have, are palpable. But also forbidden. Something they know they can't act upon, something to be hidden. My heart went out to them, the struggles were tough, the denials hurtful. The pain they both still carry for losing her dad, and his mentor, was raw and constant. So much healing still needed to take place. Characters you love, admire, and respect. Events that take you from lighthearted moment, to heart wrenching, to one filled with danger. I loved the flow in the tale, and how completely immersed I was in it (even though, my sunburn, skin might disagree :D) Marvelous tale, highly recommended! ~ Five Spoons

Join us on Riverbend Road, the newest in the Haven Point series. We are reunited with some characters from the past, like McKenzie and Devin Shaw. It's time to meet new characters like Police Officer Wyn Bailey, from a family of law enforcement including her now deceased father who had been Police Chief for many years. Trouble seems to seeks out Wyn everyone she goes. The current sexy Chief of Police, Cade Emmett, suspends her without pay after she disobeys a direct order, even though she saved the lives of two children. Wyn is working through her frustration over the suspension. Cade is working through his....anger?, at the danger she placed herself in. They have what starts as a casual dinner together, ending in a kiss. Then reality sets in. It's a mistake and they have to forget it happened, or so Cade says. But can they? Along the way a new neighbor, Andrea, and her two children Chloe and Will, move in. Drapes are kept closed, and they seem hesitant? fearful? and totally unaccustomed to the kindness shown them in this lovely town. Is it smooth sailing? No way! Join us as Andreas dangerous situation unfolds. Cade deals with troubling information about the death of Wyns father and the hurt that it could cause Wyn and her family. Once again, RaeAnne does not disappoint. I am always left waiting impatiently for the next story.

haven point series book 4 Riverbend Road is similar to other reads in the RaeAnne Thayne Haven Point book series. It contains drama, lies, secrets, loss, and love. The book is the fourth installment in the Haven Point series although it may be a stand - alone read. Haven Point is an idyllic small town with caring neighbours and welcoming families. This book is the story of Cade Emmett and Wynona Baily, the town's police chief and it's number one officer. Characters we have met in previous books visit again too. The drama ensues early with the barn fire and it's consequences. As for lies, Cade's was a "biggie" in regards to Wyn's father and his death. Both Wyn and neighbour Andrea had secrets regarding their sexual pasts. Both Cade, Wyn and her family strongly feel the loss of her father and brother. Wyn was born into a police family. She was considered Cade's number one officer, while her only living brother, Marshall, is a sheriff in a nearby town. Love and drama run through the book. Wyn loves Cade, her childhood crush. Cade cannot bring himself to give in to love with Wynona because he is her superior. It is not until he thinks that he is losing her that he can say " I love you" out loud. Three chaste kisses was all they otherwise shared. I would delightfully recommend this book. I received an eARC of this book for an honest review.

Riverbend Road (Haven Point) by RaeAnne Thayne is Awesome, best of the series. You are in for a treat, but as usual all of Haven Point series are a must to read. Wyn is punished for her heroic deed and Cade is just following protocol, but not happy about the situation. They have known each other since childhood and the attraction is still there, but Cade is her boss! So what now! Read this fantastic story to find out. A heartwarming story to fall in love with. So come back to Haven Point and enjoy once more.

Riverbend Road is the charming story of small town Haven Point police officer Wyn Bailey and her boss, the chief of police Cade Emmett. They've been friends since they were kids but now are fighting the growing attraction between them. Cade has always viewed Wyn as the little sister he watches over even though she's his best police officer. Cade had a hard childhood until Wyn's father took him under his wing and gave him guidance. As they try to fight their attraction they're also keeping secrets from each other. Cade feels like he'd be a disappointment to Wyn's family if they knew the secret he's keeping while Wyn is yearning to do something beyond being a police officer. While it is not necessary to read the previous 3 books in this series to enjoy this book I'd certainly recommend it. It's helpful to know some backstory on the characters around Haven Point, it sounds like a town I'd love to live in. This is the 4th book in the Haven Point series and I think it's the best one yet.

I have been a fan of RaeAnne Thayne's books since I won a free book in the Hope Crossing series from Goodreads, so when I got the opportunity to read this book I jumped at the chance. RaeAnne like many of my other favorite authors does a great job of really developing the characters in her books. That was no different in this book with Wyn and Cade. I really felt like these two characters were well constructed and written. She gives you enough of their past to understand why they are the way they are but not too much where you feel like it is boring and lose interest. In addition, I really enjoyed how she set the scene. She really made you feel like you were part of town of Haven Point and living in the country with Cade and Wyn. Finally the item that I find in all of RaeAnne's books that really makes them stand out would be how she incorporates friending and family in her books. For instance in this book she touches on loss, new friendship, and family play an important part in a persons life. She does a great job of also making the stories she tells realistic. I am very interested to read the next book in this series and to see who the next two characters are that will play the main characters.

Riverbend Road – RaeAnne Thayne Wynona and Cade have known each other since childhood. Cade was Wyn’s brother’s best friend. He has always considered her a little sister, or has he? He is now her boss at the Haven Point police department. She is the best police officer he has and he doesn’t want to jeopardize their working relationship but his attraction is getting harder to deny. They are also neighbors, which doesn’t help when they see each other outside of work as well. A new woman moves in to the neighborhood with her children. Wyn befriends her but her investigative skills tell her there is more to the story. I have read all of RaeAnne’s books and found this one to be my new favorite. Of course I love them all and the newest one is always my new favorite. It is part of a series but you do not need to have read the others to enjoy this one.

RaeAnne Thayne has done it again. Riverbend Road is a great book with a wonderful story about overcoming the loss of a family member and mentor and sharing secrets from the past. This story has it all. You will laugh, cry and read faster to see what is going to happen. In this book you see folks who have suffered a loss and are dealing with keeping a secret. They have to learn how to overcome the grief and let go of the secrets that they are holding on to. By doing this they can fall in love. It also shows a wonderful community that are always there for each other when they need them. They even welcome strangers into the community and shower them with food and support. I loved seeing all the folks in Haven Point, meeting the new comers in the community and reading about Wyn and Cade’s story. Wyn and Cade both had a lot to deal with and secrets from the past to share. They learned that together they could overcome the grief and have a happy life together with her loving dog. I am looking forward to more great stories from Haven Point.

Great new book in the Haven Point series. We have the story of Cade and Wyn. Wyn is a Haven Point police officer and Cade is her boss. She has been keeping a secret crush on him for years. When she disobeys a direct order from him, he puts her on unpaid leave for a week. During this week, we see them grow closer. Throw in a mysterious new neighbor and you will be close to the edge of your seat for most of the book. Loved the story and the history you get for these two characters. You see two lost people finally find their way not only to forgiveness but to where they really should be.

Need a hide-away, a place where crime is low and community spirit is high? Maybe it was time to simply return home to be closer to family and friends. Whatever the case may be Cade, Wynona and Andrea, find themselves on Riverbend Road. For Cade, Haven Point is a proving that he had risen above the squalor of his youth, mainly thanks to the Bailey Family. Wynona returns home to help care for family after the death of her police officer twin and the injury leading to death of her dad, then Police Chief. Andrea, on the other hand was looking for safety and peace for her little family. Once again RaeAnne Thayne has taken us back to Haven Point where a haven can surely be found. Read RaeAnne Thayne's Riverbend Road to see the intertwining and consequent unfolding of these three lives living on Riverbend Road, Haven Point.

If I could ever give a book more than 5 stars, this would be the one! I have read I believe all of this author's books and I think this is the best one yet. It has a little bit of suspense, two families who have known each other for a long time and Wyn and Cade. Cade is the police chief and Wyn's boss but things change quickly between the two and can I say that I love the fact that the two characters just don't "jump" into it like a lot of books have their characters do these days. Nothing wrong with it, but I love reading a story that keeps you engaged because of the other people in the town, new characters introduced and just a sweet love story. Wonderful and emotional, this story will keep the reader engaged until the end. A must read!

Officer Wynona Bailey answers a frantic call from her Aunt Jenny. She arrives to find her Aunt trying to get in her driveway but there is a baby moose blocking the way with Mama watching from the other side of the yard. Aunt Jenny has groceries in the car is and is anxious to get them in the house before her ice cream melts. Wyn finally gets the moose to move and calls Fish and Game to relocate the baby and his Mama. As she is pulling away, Wynona gets a call from Chief Emmest asking her to respond to a possible barn fire. Wynona confirms there is a fire but spots two kids bicycles outside but no kids. She reports the fire and tells her Chief that she is going in. He tells her to stand down and wait. She knows there is not enough time and turns her radio off and rushes into the building calling out. Wyn finds Caleb and Luke Keegan. Caleb has what appears to be a broken leg. She carries Caleb and has Luke hold on to her belt loop. They get out of the fire just in time. Officer Wynona is hailed as a hero by everyone except her Chief who suspends her for seven days for disobeying a direct order. RaeAnne Thayne writes books that grab you and keep you until every last page has been turned. A feeling of coming home overcomes you. You will visit a place of beauty with friends you just realized you have missed. Opportunities are there to make new friends too. I can picture Haven Point in my mind from her beautiful descriptions. RaeAnne's books are definitely the kind of books you want to live in and hate to leave when you are done!

I supposed I should start with how much I love Ms. Thayne’s books. She has written stories and created destination books (as in towns that have standalone stories about folks living there) that are so amazing that you are enmeshed into the lives of all the folks she introduces to you. This book is a standalone but a part of Haven Point, one of those destinations. Wyn Bailey and Cade Emmett have known each other since they were kids – Cade is her older brother’s best friend – and she now works for him as a police officer. There is such a deep connection between these two and they both have heart-wrenching stories to tell. Ms. Thayne does it so much better than I can so I won’t give any details or spoilers. The secondary characters are a riot, especially the kids and Wyn’s dog. And Cade will touch your heart as no one else can. Loved the story and highly recommend. And you should read the entire series -- you won't be sorry!
