Ruby is amazing! I am only a little overweight, I don't live in the south or have the same religious background as Ruby, but I have so much in common with her and that's because she is a Real person we can all relate to! She's funny, inspirational, just plain human... and yet so extraordinary! I recently started watching her show and I'm so happy to have happened upon her book! As I read, I could just hear her voice! If you get to know her through her show or her book you'll likely realize why, and see the many ways, she touches lives. For example, in one of her shows she said something to the effect that she was willing to face the uncomfortable to get where she needs to go. Those words ring through me as I face challenges in my life. I am just in love with RUBY!! You go girl!

Ruby's diary is inspiring. It is a quick read, but it has some very deep, inward reflective moments for the reader. It is very motivating considering Ruby's story. If you keep an open mind when you read it you will get a lot out of it.

I enjoyed this book. It's an easy read. What I liked about it the most is that I was able to relate A LOT to Ruby. It felt good to know that I'm not the only one feeling this way. My struggle is minor compared to Ruby's, so if she can lose hundreds of pounds, I should be able to lose ten, and keep them off. Our situations are very different, and we both live VERY different lifestyles. Even so, not being at your desired weight comes with a lot of the same thinking. It's a nice, quick read :)
