    Well worth the read

Every bit as good as Stephen King. Clever and well written with a good combination of being grounded in reality and creative mystery/horror.

    Excellent!

One of the best, well written books i have read in a long time - since the last one by the same author! If you like Stephen King, you cant go wrong!

    Interesting ending...

The best part of Rushed for me, was the ending, and not because the book ended. Throughout the entire book I was trying to piece together what I suspected were various puzzles pieces to one complete puzzle. Boy, was I right! Anyone who is reading or plans on reading this book, if you you ever feel like you've hit a wall, or are unsure of what the purpose of certain things are, know some seemingly meaningless characters and plot points do have a purpose when the conclusion is finally reached.

On the quest with Eric, there were some great adventures, while also having some dull moments. I enjoyed the lines blurred between reality and dreams. At times I found myself questioning what I was reading and ultimately having to reread a few lines, or maybe even an entire page. All in the mystical creatures mentioned are explained so vividly, putting faces and bodies to each one. I loved being able to envision these villainous creatures (including those somewhat human). You can almost smell various stretches mentioned and see the different settings.

Occasionally humor was injected into the story. For example the following quote: "Corn could not look more sinister. Broccoli, maybe. But corn was just corn. It was tasty," Everyone knows asparagus is really the sinister looking vegetable, right? ;)

For me, Eric's constant communication with his wife and other family members worked as a reminder that he was indeed in the real world and he hadn't drifted off to a world not his own. The thought of being able to wander a little to the left or a little to the right and end up elsewhere is incredible. There is one character, Isabelle, who was, without a doubt, my favorite. Her story was harrowing and yet, she was such a great addition to the book. Without her personality I think something would have been missing. Definitely a book I enjoyed despite there being some parts I found somewhat dull. I would recommend this to a friend and look forward to reading Brian's other books.

It held my interest. And a element of fun helped keep the story moving. I do plan to read the sequel(s) and hope to see some more depth of story from the characters. For a free book it was awesome.

Wow! What a great read! This is the first book I've read by this author. I read so much, and anxiously await my favorite authros, Stephen King, Dan Koontx, Mofina, Patterson, to all hurry up and write new books! I absolutely love it when I find a new author, new to me, that I love! This book was unusual, different, exciting, thrilling and I had no idea whatsoever what it was all leading to until the very end. An excellent, fun, sometimes scary and interesting book. I highly recommend it, and cannot wait to read more of his books!
