Secrets of Bella Terra is MAGNIFICO!

"Secrets of Bella Terra" is the first book in Christina Dodd's latest series. This book is filled with the mystery, passion and suspense that I absolutely love in her books.

Christina has a wonderful way of bringing you into a book so that you feel that you are part of it instead of standing in a corner. I also love the way she gives such life to her characters and I simply fell in love with Rafe and Brooke. I cannot wait until Revenge at Bella Terra is out! I so want to see what she has in store for Eli!

Those of you who have been fans of Christina's will not be disappointed! And for those of you who are new to her writing, I hope you find this book to be wonderful as I did!

Great new series! LOVE the DiLuca family!!

Christina Dodd has open a new world for her readers, that of Bella Valley, in her latest romantic suspense novel. She sets up her new series with ease and without cumbersome explanations. The DiLuca family quickly become dear to your heart, as you are immersed in their wine vineyard and luxury resort. The plot evolves quickly and is filled with action, there is never a slow moment in the book.
I initially started reading Christina Dodd's paranormal romances:The Darkness Chosen/Chosen Ones series (which I highly recommend!). I liked the way she balanced the plot and the romance with each other. She maintains the same skill in this contemporary romance suspense....there isn't too much mystery or too much "love-making" (although her bedroom scenes are delicious!).
I am eagerly awaiting the second book in this trilogy! If you like Christia Dodd then you will LOVE the Scarlet Deception Series. If you are new to Dodd, then I highly recommend starting with the Secrets of Bella Terra!

    Exciting adventure-romance

I've been waiting for a story this good ever since finishing Dodd's Fortune Hunter series a few years ago. I should have read it slowly to savor every well-crafted word; but like chocolate, I couldn't keep my hands off it. So now it's all gone and I have to wait for the next in the series to learn the rest of the Bella Terra story. (Good to have Christina writing about the "real" world again.)

The first Scarlet Deception contemporary romantic suspense is an exciting second chance at love

Security expert Rafe Di Luca is working as the control of a rescue mission when he learns of the vicious assault on his grandmother Sarah. Dropping what he was doing, Rafe returns home to his family's Bella Terra Vineyard and Resort in Bella Valley, California. Like his half-brothers Eli and Noah, thirtyish Rafe loves his grandmother. The three siblings vow to find who the insidious attacker was.

However coming home also means seeing Brooke Petersson who runs the resort and found the battered Sarah. Rafe feels guilty as he made love with her and dumped her when he left town. The three siblings and Brooke wonder whether the decades old animosity over a lost bottle of valuable wine with the Bianchins family is the cause. Rafe and Sarah know their youthful attraction remains strong, while a murder over that legendary bottle has both fearing for the safety of the other and his Nonna.

The first Scarlet Deception contemporary romantic suspense is an exciting second chance at love, if the protagonists survive tale. The story line is fast-paced from the moment the intruder batters Sarah and never slows down as the middle grandson takes center stage along side of Brooke. Fans will toast Christina Dodd for a strong first act while looking forward to Eli's tale next.

    Dodd has lost a fan

I hated this book. Her phrases "screamed like a scalded cat", "threw a cat into the sprinklers", and her description of the bad guy tearing the legs off gophers were offensive and not necessary. Obviously Dodd has very little sensitivity toward animals. Usually when I know I'll never reread a book, I give it to the library. I will throw this book in the garbage where it belongs.

    Good mystery and romance combined

This was my first Christina Dodd and I enjoyed it. The romantic suspense was a good plot and held my interest throughout. It's different enough from the other wine/vineyard related works to really work.

I immediately purchased the next in the series for my NOOKcolor, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Ms Dodd has a winner for me with this series.
