3.5 Stars! This was a great mystery novel with a side of romance. Ashley Fitzgerald lost her parents to a fire when she was 15. She hasn't been able to remember what happened that night but is still haunted by the events years later. Ron Noble lost his father to the same fire. He has been receiving mysterious notes implying the fire was no accident and leading him on a path to find the truth. One of the names listed in the letters is Ashley. For a mystery novel this had everything you can love. I spent the whole time trying to figure out who, what and why's of the story. It was well written and kept me engaged. The romance part of the story was just ok for me. It was overshadowed by the mystery and since I read more for romance, that's why this story was a "like" and not a "love". I am curious about the rest of the series and do plan to read them. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Plenty of drama and suspense. The characters were okay and the story was a little slow for my taste. Just an okay read for me.

This is the first book I've read by E.B. Walters. I enjoyed it so much, I immediately purchased the rest of the Fitzgerald family series books (to date) and read them all over my vacation. In addition to the story of Ron and Faith, the author introduces you to many of the other members of the extensive Fitzgerald family. This is an extremely well written story with complex, lovable (and some not so lovable) characters. Loved the thriller/mystery element, the personal connection between the main characters and the loving, protective Fitzgerald family. I am definitely a fan and will be watching for future books by Ms. Walters!

What a cover!! WOW Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a fire at the age of fifteen. Now hunted by the memories, she relies on her paintings and photographs to relieve her of the pain the memories bring. She has learned to live with the nightmares; she has learned to pretend that she’s not affected by them anymore. Ashley is a strong woman and a successful artist, but is she strong enough to go through the worst day of her life to find the responsible for the fire? Ron Noble is a successful business man and part-time firefighter, he has the looks and the money to get whatever he wants, whoever he wants. But he is chased by rumors, rumors that leave him doubting who he is and what he stands for. And after receiving various unknown messages he is set to find the truth behind the fire from ten years ago. The fire that killed his father, the fire that his very own father could be responsible for, and his only way of doing that is by going after the only witnessed that survived it, Ashley. When Ashley refuses to meet up with him, under the ruse he created of needing a painting for his grandmother, he decides to show at her place, uninvited. Having been waiting all morning for her model, Ashley was a little bit more than irritated. So, when the doorbell rang and outside her door stood a handsome man, she didn’t think twice before scowling him for being late and pulling him inside, and then asking him to take his shirt off. You can imagine how that went. When Ron asks for Ashley’s help she obviously refuses, not only did he not say from the beginning she was mistaking him for her model, but he was also intent on making her relive her worst nightmare. I admit I liked Ron’s persistence. He was, most of the time, pretty arrogant, alright? But arrogant or not the man got the thing going. If we were to wait for Ashley and her constant overthinking we would get no-freaking-where. Not that I blame her, it was not an easy thing to do either. But. But if you have a man like Ron all to yourself, you know… go for it! Stop overthinking it! I had a few disagreements with Ashley along the story, especially with her need to protect the ones that did not need protecting. I understand that when you love someone you want them to be safe, but be forward with them. I cannot stand when people do things behind your back for your own good! I swear I can’t deal with that. But moving on now. The chemistry flowing between them was just… whoa! There were quite a few hot-hot-hot scenes, that mind you I thought would never end. Seriously. I was honestly fearing for their lives. Well, I am just kidding. Or maybe not. Anyway. Needless to say I was rooting for them pretty badly. The way Ron was protective of her was just… swoon! What probably made me love him the most was the fact that, even though Ashley did try to push him away for his own good, he didn’t give up, he never gave up on her. The suspense was killing me! I was biting my nails and suffering along with them. Trying to find the responsible for the fire and I was honestly wrecking my brain to discover who was sending the letters and all that. Slow Burn was a nerve wracking, hair pulling, and heartwarming tale. It has enough suspense and mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat; it has enough romance and passion to keep you swooning and aww’ing. It’s full of twists and turns, heartache and love; it’s an emotional roller coaster that had me glued to the pages till the very end.

Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed her parent's death by fire 10 yrs ago and doesn't remember a thing. She has moved on, or so she thinks, until Ron Noble steps into her life and makes her wonder, what exactly she saw that night. Ron has everything, including a huge secret. He has approached Ashley hoping to clear his father's name but when things start to heat up between the two of them, the fire 10 yrs ago, will the be least of their concerns. This story was filled with twists and turns that kept you glued to the pages until the very end. It was thrilling, sexy, sensual, emotional, and so much more. It grabbed me at the beginning and didn't let go. The plot was exciting and flowed extremely well. The story read fast but left nothing out. Ron was amazing. He's a filthy rich playboy with a great body and is extremely talented yet there was an emotional side that the author did a fantastic job showing the readers. Ashley is a talented artist and one that you don't want to push around. She is incredibly independent and extremely straight forward but yet vulnerable and broken. Ms Walters did an amazing job making me feel what the characters felt and believe the emotions that were explained on the pages. Both characters were well put together and thought out. The chemistry between then was smokin and sheet burning good. This is an emotional roller coaster that had me giggling, crying, fanning myself, and cursing all before the last page. The villains were truly demented and their actions were well explained and thought out. I found myself wanting to stop them yet not knowing who "them" was till the very end. I enjoyed this story immensely and cannot wait to read the other Fitsgerald books in the series.

Hea y'all Anne here and I've just finished reading Slow Burn by Ednah Walters and here goes. This is definitely an adult book the story line brings several twists and turns that keep the reader interested and coming back for more. The main characters Ron and Ashley have a bond forged by fire, they both suffered a tragic loss 10 years ago when an A list club caught fire and burned. Ron has been coaxed and lured into opening the investigation back up. Clues and trails have lead him to the one person who might have the answers, Ashley. Ashley however can't remember a thing about that night but that she lost everything important to her, now a premiere artist she paints her feelings and escapes the past through her art. The characters are fabulous and intriguing, their instant connection is provocative and hot. When each person tries to deny their feelings for each other it eventually boils to a point. The trails have not only uncovered truth but also a match between two people that will leave your imagination running wild and your body heated with need. The chemistry between Ron and Ashley is seductive and sensual, the love scenes are breathtaking and are sure to increase your heart rate every time. Ron cherishes Ashley because she is different and strong but vulnerable and needy and the same time. Ashley needs Ron to hold her and protect her but is it from an unknown villain or her own insecurities? The scenes brought forth in the memories of Ashley are tragic and painful, but the love she harbors for Ron is enticing and passionate you'll be turning these pages quicker than your breaths being taken. I highly recommend this book if you love a mystery with murder and betrayal, plus the added bonus of characters who can't get enough of each other. An author who can describe a scene of love making to the point of bring your blood to a boil and quickening your pulse. It's intense and gripping a must read for the ladies out in the world. Fall in love with fire fighters and want one of your own. 5 out of 5 stars for Slow Burn by Ednah Walters.

A tragic incident from the past brings two people together. One wants to find out the truth from that night and the other wants to move on and forget the ghosts of the past. Neither asked for the circumstances that shaped their lives, but both will persevere and become stronger because of it. Ashley Fitzgerald has a large loving family, but she is alone. She lost her parents in an awful fire a decade ago. She is only able to remember fragments of that night. It has haunted her for too long and she wants to move on, but is unable to. Her plan is to buy the property where her parents died and totally demolish the house, the memories and the pain. Ron Noble does not believe his father started the fire that killed him and Ashley's parents. Ron has never really believed it. Now he is getting messages for him to investigate the fire. There are secrets buried and he is determined to find out what really happened the night his father died. Ashley's name is mentioned in one of the notes and he is determined to find out what she knows. A mystery waiting to be solved a decade later brings these two people together. There is people out there that will do anything to keep the secrets buried. Ashley and Ron must work together to stay alive and to find the truth. People involved from that night are dying and Ashley and Ron are running out of time. I truly enjoyed "Slow Burn". I'm normally not a big mystery fan, but the action and the romance kept me interested. Ms. Walters wrote amazing characters that kept me captivated and I just couldn't tear myself away from them. "Slow Burn" was a real page turner for me and I can't wait to read more about the amazing Fitzgerald family.

Slow Burn was such a HOT read. E.B. really knows how to tell a riveting story. This story has it all a HOT guy, Hot girl, an undeniable attraction, murder, suspense, intrigue, a sociopath, and a buried family secret. I have never been disappointed by ANY of ms. Walters books. Her stories weave a magical spell that just hold you transfixed. Ashley is an artist with no memory of what happened the night her parents died and Ron is a son desperate to find out what happened the night Ashley's parents died in the hopes of clearing his father's name. When they met, there was an instant connection between them that, no matter how they tried, they just couldn't deny. While they are forming this new relationship, all these mysteries things start happening to them. One by one things began happening to the remaining witness' of the fire that killed Ashley's parents. This story had me hanging on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. On a scale from 1-10 I give Slow Burn a 10. Slow Burn really makes you believe in love at first sight. I think everyone age 18 and over should pick up a copy of Slow Burn and let yourself get swept away by Ashley and Ron's story. While your buying Slow Burn you should also pick up book 2 Mine Until Dawn. In my opinion you can't go wrong reading an E.B. Walters book.

Here is the Goodreads Blurb: She doesn't want to deal with the past.. Ten years ago, Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a tragic fire and her mind blocked the memory. She pretends to have moved on, is a successful artist and photographer, until she opens her door to a stranger, assumes he's a model and asks him to strip to his briefs. He plans to expose the truth. Wealthy businessman Ron Noble has the body, the jet, the fast cars and the women, but he hides a deadly secret. His father started the fire that killed Ashley's parents. Now someone is leaving him clues that could exonerate his father and they lead to Ashley's door. Blindsided by the blazing attraction between them and a merciless killer silencing anyone who was there the night of the fire, Ron can't dare tell Ashley the truth. Yet the answer he seeks may very well tear them apart. While a demented arsonist lots his ultimate revenge... Yeah. It is really that action packed, thrilling and mysterious! This hot, ADULT novel has more than just amazing sex scenes, it also has- get this- a mystery! I loved it. I know that not all adult novels are all about guy and girl getting together and well, you know. But a enough of them are that I was excited to read Slow Burn with its really gripping mystery. It is not one of those plots either, where you know from almost the first chapter who the bad guy is and how the story is going to play out. Trying to figure out who the real arsonist is will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Ron and Ashley will also reach right out of the pages and grab you. Ashley has some personal demons but she is not a weak willed miss. She has great depth of character and I love her spunk. Ron is really fun and interesting, he is not just a hot, rich play boy with mad skills in the bedroom- I mean, he definitely is that too but he's also the family black sheep, a great friend and he's got his own issues. I love how real and engaging Ron and Ashley are. You really want them to make it together and to solve the mystery once and for all. All around this book was wonderful and it'll be great for reading this summer out on the beach or just laying about at home. It's one you should add to your To Read list for sure! Remember that this is an ADULT book with a fair amount of steamy sexual scenes. Not for the under eighteens!
