I agree with the other reviewer. But I think B&N should screen some of the phony reviews people send in. They are abusive and inappropriate, and make me want to use only amazon's book website. What a shame. B&N, please start screening these reviews.

Fast paced. Wish it was longer. I could take another 1,000 pages of a book this good.

This is the prequel to the Jonathan Graves series and I was so glad to know how the relationship between Wolverine and Digger et al began. Love , love, love this series and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre. Can't wait for the next. Please hurry.

As a fan of John Gilstrap and his Jonathan Grave action-thrillers, I loved learning the backstory of how Digger and Boxers started their hostage rescue business. It is not easy to tell a story that predates your current series, but Gilstrap stayed true to the characters while making them younger but still as effective. He even slipped in the right amount of now outdated equipment. In reading that the FBI director didn't have a cell phone and had to use a pay phone made me wonder just how covert operations ever came together. This is a great side-story of how Irene Rivers first met Digger and Boxers and insight to what led them to where they are today. I hope there are more short stories in the future. I have read all of John Gilstrap's books and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. In my opinion he is without a doubt one of the best thriller writers in the business, if not the best. You don't have to read more than a few pages of his books to get hooked. I've had several late nights reading his books because once I started, I couldn't put them down until I finished. I love the Jonathan Grave series and am eagerly awaiting John's next book. If John Gilstrap writes it, I'm going to read it!
