Meet the Author

C.C. HUNTER is a pseudonym for award-winning romance author Christie Craig. She lives in Spring, Texas, where she's at work on the next Shadow Falls novel.

C.C. Hunter is the author of the young adult fantasy series Shadow Falls, including the books Born at Midnight and Awake at Dawn. She grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she's still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is so not a frog. When she's not writing, she's reading, spending time with her family, or shooting things--with a camera, not a gun. C.C. Hunter is a pseudonym. Her real name is Christie Craig and she also writes humorous romantic suspense romance novels.

Spellbinder is another great story to add to the Shadow Falls series! I love the way the author wrote about Miranda (the witch). I Love all the characters at shadow falls. The story is about Miranda.....she will be 18 years old next year ( which means she needs to compete in a competition and win; if she is going to be high priestess). Does Miranda have what it takes? Will her mom finally be proud of her daughter? The competiton is in Paris, which is where her beloved Perry is. Can she focus on what she needs to do? Oh, and someone is knocking off the witches in the competition. Her two best friends join her on her trip....will they be able to keep things in order? Let me tell you......there are a lot of other things happening, but I don't want to give away too much. Read this book.....you won't be dissapointed!!!!!! I promise. If you like reading Shadow Falls.....this is a must read. Intrigued by Romance

I fall more and more in love with this series of books every day. I read Born at Midnight because it was on sale and was instantly hooked. I loved reading about Kylie, Della and Miranda. Kylie's story is finished and Della's is almost complete, so a peek inside of Miranda's story was fun. Now, I really want more Miranda. This novella was a fun read! There were twists I wasn't expecting at all. There were also a few unexpected laugh out loud parts. A lot of the main cast from both Kylie's and Della's books made an appearance. If you have enjoyed any books from the Shadow Falls world, then this is a must read. I sincerely hope C.C. Hunter has plans to explore Miranda more! Highly recommend to young adults, new adults and adults. There is a little bit of great story for any age. Spellbinder by C.C. Hunter gets five glittery stars for once again, being a great Shadow Falls addition!

Just like the series of these books, they keep you on the edge. Glad to see a background on all the characters.

I'll be perfectly honest, I started reading this novella and ended up so engrossed that I just ignored all the things I really needed to be doing today. And I don't regret it one little bit! I LOVED getting to be in Miranda's head for a change. I mean really, can a character get any more awesome than a dyslexic teenage witch? I don't think so. I also really enjoyed that Shadow Falls: After Dark fans (such as myself) got a few clues about what's happening in Della's story. Props to C.C. Hunter for an awesome job on this one - I'm not normally this excited about a novella!

This book had me cast under a spell. I love every page and moment of this book. CC Hunter really know what she's writing. I've read the Shadow Falls series starring Kylie, the After Dark Series starring Della and now Miranda. I can't get enough of it!

I received an ARC from the author/publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I fell in the love with Shadow Falls from the moment that I read Della's short story Turned at Dark. After reading all of the original Shadow Falls novels where Kylie is the main protagonist and the Shadow Falls: After Dark series where Della is the main protagonist that just continued to grow. Now with this novella we get a glimpse at the world the way Miranda sees it. We're also treated to an appearance by some of the usual (and unusual) suspects from Shadow Falls. Miranda proves that she's just as tough as Kylie and Della. I hope some of the revelations in this book make an appearance in Unspoken. This is another great book, by a great author about strong women! Highly recommended series!

C.C Hunter takes another beloved character in Shadow Falls series and made me love her even more. I always wanted to get inside Miranda Cane's head, to feel her love for Perry, and it was AMAZING. Miranda starts off broken hearted, and kind of seemed useless (which was my only complaint) but then she stepped up to the plate, and did her best in the first competition which would bring her to Paris. She overcame her arch nemesis pranking her, and when someone attacks, Miranda's a bada** and saves the day. She has always had a hard time with spells because of her dyslexia, a real problem that real girls handle in real life. C.C brings in such an issue and handles it well. Once winning the competition, she, Kylie, and Della, head to Paris for the big competition to become High Priestess. Miranda finds out that both her parents had been lying to her her entire life but even though she's hurt, she handles it maturely. Miranda's heart is put into a blender because of Perry and her parents but she finds comfort in the last person she expected and together they are stronger. I felt Miranda's heartache, her love, and her determination as if it was my own. C.C Hunter is great at pulling at my heartstrings and putting a smile on my face. If C.C Hunter writes a book, I will always read it. She is too talented to pass up! One of my favorite quotes is " 'This, what?' she asked. 'This... him.' Perry waved toward the hall where Shawn had disappeared. 'Mr. I'm-too-sexy-for-my-shirt guy!'"

I've been waiting for Miranda's book for a long time and this did not disappoint. Miranda is still down since Perry broke up with her and went to Paris and feeling lost and unsure who she really is. But a deal from her mom that if she wins the witch competition she'll pay for Kylie and Della to go with her. How can she pass that up? But at that time she didn't know that someone was trying to kill off some of the contestants, and now that she's won she's got a target on her head. Not to mention a hot wizard she's had a crush on since childhood sent to watch over her messing with her emotions. My only real complaint is that it was too short. I would love a full novel for Miranda. But what I love is how Miranda is growing more confident in herself. She is also getting better control over her dyslexia and her magic is getting stronger. If you are a fan of the Shadow Falls series then you don't want to miss this novella. If you haven't read them then what are you waiting for?

Spellbinder by C. C. Hunter is a young adult novel about young witches. Miranda Kane is seventeen and forced to compete in magical competitions by her mother. Her mother offers her an incentive to do well at this latest competition. The winner gets to go to Paris for the next competition. If Miranda comes in first, her mother will pay for her two best friends, Kylie (fae with chameleon shifting abilities) and Della (a vampire) to go to Paris with her. Miranda has a form of dyslexia which is why her spells go wonky (plus her mind tends to wander). Miranda is going to try hard to win this one. She wants to go to Paris to see Perry. Perry was her boyfriend who went to a special school in Paris. Miranda still cares for Perry and wants to see him. Miranda does well in the first two parts of the competition. The third one goes well until a fire ball goes awry. Turns out it was not Miranda’s fault (Miranda was shocked as well as her friends). Someone is trying to kill of the contestants. Miranda does win the competition and heads to Paris with bodyguards. Miranda and her friends try to figure out who is killing off the contestants before anyone else gets hurt (including themselves). Miranda will also discover a family secret that will change her life. I give Spellbinder 3 out of 5 stars. It is okay, but not great. It is evidently part of a series called Shadow Falls (did not notice this when I picked the book nor was it mentioned). There is some teenage romance mixed in the book as Miranda has two boys that she is attracted to and can imagine kissing (her mind tends to wander to the subject frequently). I did enjoy the plot twist with the family secret. I wish the book had contained more magic as well as more background information (for those that have not read the other book in the series). I think I would have understood the book better if I had read the previous books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of Spellbinder from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The review and opinions expressed are my own.

Spellbinder is a novella in the Shadow Falls series by C.C. Hunter. The main series revolves around Kylie, but this one is about her friend Miranda. This series is full of different kinds of supernatural beings. Miranda is a dyslexic, teenage witch. She has always felt like a failure in her mother's eyes, and now her boyfriend has broken up with her so her life isn't going too great. I really like Miranda, but I didn't love this book like I was hoping to. Don't get me wrong – it was good. I like books that focus more on romance and this one had more suspense and mystery than anything. I know that some people will love that about this book. The girls in this series are always getting themselves in danger and it makes things exciting. There is sort of a love triangle involved, even though the romance is barely there. The relationship between Miranda and the guys is not resolved – so there must be another book coming. I hope things work out with her boyfriend Perry, but we will just have to see. There was so much other supernatural drama going on that there was no time for Miranda to focus on either guy. There is an interesting twist in this book, but I don't want to give it away. I was glad to see Kylie and Della show up in this book. Della's romance problems haven't been resolved in her book either, so I'm interested to see how things turn out for her. I know there is so much more to Della and Miranda's stories. If you like young adult paranormal romances, then I totally recommend this series. I would suggest starting at the very beginning with Kylie's book – Born at Midnight. This trio of girls is fun to read about and you'll get to see plenty of Miranda there too.

CC Hunter has done it again! Another awesome book I could not put down from start to finish. This is the first one all about Miranda one of Kylie's bffs. In the book Miranda is in a magic competition and gets the chance to go to Paris. Along the way she encounters murder, shocking news about her family and even a little chance for romance. I laughed, cry, and even been surprised! I did not want it to end. So once again if you have not had a chance to read any of these series, I would full suggest you do it now.
