With having 15 grandchildren, I would recommend this book to all readers, especially young people. Though the setting is in late 1890's, the author has proven there is nothing 'new' under the sun. The Battle of the Ages applies the same then as it does now.
Humanity is the same, abuse, struggles, loneliness, temptations to overcome and deciding to do the next right thing many times is the best option.
The chain of events is thrilling, very real and puts one on the edge as each situation leads to something so unexpected! Teaching the reader how to overcome when circumstances seem unbearable or impossible.
I recommend this book. It will have a tremendous effect on your perspective of life.
