Well I've finally popped my werewolf shifter cherry, and I'll say that this will not be the last werewolf book I read. I thought it was a great introduction to this genre giving me just enough background to understand the werewolf world, spicy chemistry between the lead characters, and intrigue and mystery with the overall storyline. I immediately connected with Hayden and could easily relate to his misgivings about his roll in the Pack. He is poised to take over as the Alpha following the death of his adoptive father but, being a turned wolf instead of a born wolf, faces some obstacles with a rogue pack thirsty for power. He hides behind a facade of fast living and it has finally caught up with him when the council hints of another wolf being named Alpha if he doesn't clean up his act. I was able to easily feel the torn emotions he had and the magnitude of the responsibility on his shoulders. When he first stood Melina up, I knew there was a deeper more important reason, his underlying likeable character shining through. I could understand his reluctance to claim her as his mate, forefront in his mind is her safety. I connected with his protectiveness of Melina and his pack, the loyalty he has to them and enjoyed thoroughly, his transition from playboy to the Alpha leader. Melina is the person who fixes the reputations of people in the spotlight, turning the public's perception around and painting them in a favourable light. When she is called upon to fix Haydens public image, she is hesitant but is always up for a challenge. After their first meeting a year ago and the heartbreaking events around that, her heart is wary and hardened against him. However, when they meet again, the strong attraction is still there, the chemistry sizzles and little does she know that she is his fated mate. I did connect with Melina straight away after the recounting of their first meeting and subsequent heart-breaking failed date, but after that there were times my connection with her faded in and out. I understand that she was a fashion writer, I understand how important that is to her and her passion for it, but at times I thought she seemed a little superficial. On the other hand, those moments did illustrate her character growth when she did make the tough choices and stood by Hayden when it counted, and fought for their relationship. I loved her loyalty to him, the support she gave him and the empathy she showed to his situation. Throughout this book the world of the werewolves was gradually built, and for a first timer like me, easy to follow. I loved the interplay between the main and supporting characters. Hayden and Melina had a scorching hot connection and which was hot and steamy. They were both strong in character and well matched, both so worthy for their positions in the pack. I am hoping that Gabriel gets his own book and hope that we see more of Hayden and Melina.

Loved! I've read all 3 of the books from Kristin Miller's Seattle Wolf Pack series and was waiting for the San Francisco series to come out. In my opinion her writing gets better with each book. I was so excited when I was offered this book for review and I read it in one sitting. Melina is a fashion writer waiting for her big break into a read fashion publication. For now she's writing profiles of celebrities, which are basically puff pieces to rehab their image. It's not what she dreams of, but it pays her bills and allows her to keep purchasing designer pieces so she does it, and does it well. Her new assignment is to help repair a well known playboys reputation. A playboy she has a history with. Hayden is in a difficult position. His adopted father has passed away. He's the heir apparent to the San Francisco wolf pack. To gain the support of the pack elders he needs to clean up his image, or else someone will challenge him for his position as alpha. I loved that this book wasn't a cookie cutter version of the Seattle pack in a new location. There were pack issues in this pack that weren't there in the Seattle pack and that added greatly to the conflict among pack members, as well as between Hayden and Melina. The one thing that wasn't different from the Seattle series was the humor infused throughout the story. It's something this author does really well. Can't wait for the next one!

I absolutely loved this story.  The main characters Melina and Hayden were such strong personalities but with soft insides.  It was an amazing journey watching them discover each other's true selves, having to look a little deeper.  Melina was a fascinating heroine, didn't put up with Hayden's alpha attitude, loved her sarcasm and quick banter.  There were several laugh out loud moments for me.  Several impressive moments from Melina where I wanted to shout out "girl power!" And then there was Hayden.  Major swoon worthy Hayden with a secret heart of gold.   I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, this fairy tale, a little mystery, some mixed signals, and a lot of understanding and love. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Melina Rae interviewed playboy celebrity Hayden Dean a year ago. He asked her to accompany him to an awards ceremony, but then stood her up. A fashionista with an eye for bargains, Melina was left heartbroken and wearing her Prada gown. Fast forward to present day, when Melina is given the assignment of shadowing Hayden and writing a favorable article on him. It's her ticket to the job she wants with Eclipse, a fashion magazine. What she doesn't know is that Hayden needs a new image to become the new alpha of the San Francisco Wolf Pack. Sparks fly between them, almost literally, because they are fated mates. But Melina is human, and Hayden needs a werewolf mate. Even worse, the wolf pack is having a problem with rogue wolves, and Melina would be a target if they knew she meant anything to Hayden. But the rogue werewolves aren't going to give up that easily... THE WEREWOLF WEARS PRADA is a lighthearted, humorous story that is balanced nicely with some dark, tearful moments. It's a fast, enjoyable read. As a San Francisco Bay Area resident, I particularly liked the 49ers/Raiders rivalry references. ARC received from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

What a fun and exciting book! I am not a huge fan of the paranormal genre, but I am a fan of Kristin Miller. So when The Werewolf Wears Prada became available for review, I jumped at the chance to read it. This is a sexy, fast-paced romance about an entertainment reporter, a werewolf, and finding your Luminary. Melina Rosenthal lives and breathes fashion. She knows it is only a matter of time before she works her way up from celebrity journalist to fashion columnist. Melina loves her job and will do whatever is necessary to achieve her goals. Through the written word, Melina has a real talent for converting a celebrity's poor public image into a well respected and admired personality. Her new assignment is to swing the public's perception of wealthy playboy and money waster Hayden Dean, into a pillar of San Francisco society. Over a very short period of time, Melina learns that Hayden has many good qualities, despite some of his shenanigans and the media's portrayal of his life. In fact, they have an instant chemistry and as a result, they become connected together forever. However, their road to happiness is replete with obstacles, naysayers and rouge wolves. I highly recommend this book! Ms. Miller perfectly combines drama, heat and intrigue into a story about werewolves, high fashion and love. I connected instantly with Melina and Hayden and there was never a moment that I did not want them to be together. The author's writing style is uncomplicated and the book flows flawlessly from beginning to end. If you are looking for a fun, hot, paranormal romance, definitely give this book a chance. Engaging story because in the beginning after we see what Hayden does to Melina we kind of dislike him. Of course not everything is a it seems. Now Melina has the opportunity to work at her dream job only catch she has to change the public's opinion of Hayden. Easier said then done or is it? The more she gets to know him we learn what's beneath the public persona he portrays to the world. Though he is keeping a mighty big secret. As Hayden struggles with the responsibility of proving he can be Alpha of the pack he also struggles with his growing attraction to Melina. Add in some rogue shifters, love, and betrayal you have the makings for a good book.

This sexy shifter romance is the story of Melina and Hayden. When Melina interviews millionaire playboy Hayden for a celebrity magazine, she thinks they share a connection. But when he ditches her as his date for a red carpet gala, she realizes he's just like the tabloid articles describe - a vain, selfish jerk. Fast forward a year later and Melina is in line for a promotion with her magazine, if she can improve Hayden's public image and write an article with her success. As for Hayden, well, being the lead contender for alpha male of his pack means he has duties and obligations and a beautiful non-shifting woman isn't supposed to catch his eye. But how can you fight fate? I quite enjoyed this story. Hayden's character is more than what meets the eye, and it doesn't take long for Melina to figure out that the public persona and the private man are not the same. I liked Hayden's determination and his protective (and possessive) nature where Melina was concerned. He's definitely an alpha male and being around Melina brings those qualities to the forefront. Melina was an equally engaging character - fun, flirty, loving all things fashionable, and working hard at her job to present herself worthy of promotion. The sparks fly when they are together and the resulting love scenes between them are steamy. There is minimal world building, though the details of Hayden's transformation to wolf mode are well written and the interactions between him and other wolves interesting and dynamic. There are several action scenes that move the plot right along as Hayden fights for his rightful position as leader and I found the story flowed well from beginning to end. It was an enjoyable read and Hayden and Melina made a great couple. 4 stars.

Irresistible! After letting her down by not turning up for a date and her seeing him attending the same date he’d asked her on with two luscious females, journalist Melina Rae accidentally ripped her Prada gown. She’s never had an explanation or apology from him, indeed they’ve not met again until she’s, once more, ordered to interview him for her magazine with the promise that she’ll be offered her dream job at Eclipse magazine if she manages to promote him as a caring, hard working sexy male and not the playboy image he currently seems intent on maintaining. He is Hayden Dean. Unknown to Melina, he’s also a werewolf and the heir apparent to the San Francisco Wolf pack after his adoptive father’s death. He’s also convinced that she’s his soul mate or Luminary but that, as a human, she’d be in deadly danger if he took her for his mate. The chemistry between them is irresistible, their attraction undeniable but the past and his worries about the future are between them. There are also rogue werewolves in the area determined to prevent him becoming the pack Alpha. With so much against them, does their love stand a chance? A great fun read, with complex characters, great interactions and a plot that is both fast paced and full of hidden twists and turns to keep it interesting. There’s romance, mystery, kidnapping and murder in this well written paranormal story that will delight lovers of this genre. Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Werewolf Wears Prada is the first book in the San Francisco Pack series. In this book you will find some fashion (don't be scared if you are not a fashionista, it's not too bad), some drama, a feisty heroine, a wolfish hero who's heart is in the right place, a traitor, secrets, rogues, some danger, romance, and some steam too. ;-) If you like werewolves, an exciting, adrenaline spiking plot, humor, and some romance this is a book that you need to read! I received an ecopy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I asked to read and review this story because I loved the title.  It painted a picture in my head of a really fun and snarky story.  This story has its moments and overall it is a good read but I really didn’t connect with either of the main characters and there is little to no snark.  My bad for the assumption going in.   Hayden is the rich playboy who needs to have his public image groomed.  Melina is the reporter who can get it done.  If only hadn’t stood her up a year earlier.  This story had all the right elements and a rockin good mystery.  If only I liked the characters a bit more.  Still a good read.  I received a copy of this story through NetGalley for an honest review.

This start of the San Francisco Pack series was different than the Seattle Pack. I loved the spunky heroine. Our hero was fierce and an excellent match for our heroine. I can't wait for book two.

I so enjoy Kristin Miller’s werewolves and this new series has me smiling at the thought of more books to come! One of the things I love about Ms. Miller’s werewolves is that they seem to seamlessly integrate into society, giving you the feeling that they could really exist. There’s quite a bit of lore and werewolf pack activity, but so many of the issues are so easy to relate to that it makes for a comfortable read. So you have Hayden, who is slated to take over as the alpha of the pack…but of course his playboy reputation isn’t helping his case. Then there is Melina, who is not Hayden’s biggest fan since she was stood up by him a year ago, and when she finds out her career hinges on changing his image let’s just say she’s less than pleased. Never mind she has no idea that werewolves exist, or the fact that she is Hayden’s fated mate, and let’s not even mention the fact that her being close to Hayden has her landing in the middle of a werewolf war…yep, Melina’s life is about to get interesting! This was such a fun read. In typical Kristin Miller fashion I found myself laughing out loud and wishing I could be part of the pack. Miller has such a way with words – the sarcasm, humor, and double entendres that she works in to her stories never fail to make me smile. I especially loved the initial set-up, which finds Melina determined to not let Hayden get to her. She’s going to play him just like he played her a year ago…and she just cracked me up!  The chemistry between Hayden and Melina was hot – you could feel the tension every time they were together, and when they finally let loose, wow, H-O-T doesn't even begin to describe these two! I did find myself getting a bit frustrated with Hayden at times – he has some real issues with commitment that I understood, but I just wanted him to get with the program a little bit quicker. But these two were definitely made for each other and could each give as well as they got. In addition to the romance surrounding Hayden and Melina, we were also thrown in to the middle of a pack war and some internal pack politics and issues. There was some mystery, some action – loved watching Melina deliver some “killer fashion” and “death by Jimmy Choo”, a bit of angst - *smack* to Hayden for some of his thoughts on a mate, and a lot of fun hot times between Hayden and Melina. This book was a great start to a new series that I look forward to reading more of. The supporting characters added color and depth to the story and I can’t wait to see who we’ll get to read about next. Another great read by Kristin Miller with well-developed characters and an intriguing plot all set in the fabulous world she has created for her werewolves. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley through the publisher for an honest review.

Melina Rosenthal lusts after two things - fabulous fashion and Hayden Dean. He's a fickle playboy, but the heart wants what the heart wants. When he reject her, she's hurt and vows to forget him. Hayden has a dark secret. He's a werewolf and is in line to be the packs Alpha. His father death has brought chaos. A group of rogues are spreading unrest and murdering turned wolves. His problems just got more complicated. Melina is writing a story to improve his image. He has his hands full with his enemies. What's he going to do with her when he can't keep his hands off her? The characters are smartly written. This story is a combination of romance, suspense and humor. Melina and her fashion passion made me laugh. She knows her designers and is seriously addicted. Hayden is misunderstood both by the pack and the public. I couldn't stop laughing when he was caught without clothes in public. Talk about a photo op. The city of San Francisco provides the perfect werewolf haven. Kristin Miller did a wonderful job writing The Werewolf Wears Prada. It was exciting, romantic and had some unexpected surprises. I'm enjoying the San Francisco Wolf Pack series.

The Werewolf Wears Prada, a San Francisco Wolf Pack novel, Kristin Miller Genre:  Romance, Fantasy/Sci-fi. Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews I’ve read  the Seattle Pack trio and enjoyed them, so thought I’d try this one from the San Francisco pack. These aren’t deep, heavy, complex reads, but a kind of werewolf lite read, one where humour plays a part, and the romance is...well, fluffy sounds wrong when talking about werewolves, but it gives an idea of the type of read these are. Fun reads, ones you can read, put down and pick up later without losing the plot...there’s a place for all books, and this one suits those moments where time is limited and you may only have an odd few minutes to keep up with the story. Its a fun read as I said, Melina is a good female lead, and did remind me a bit of the lead in the Devil wears Prada, which I read many years ago long before it was a film. Ambitious but also genuinely kind, and the the conundrum of job security v fairness is well done. Hayden, he’s the consummate playboy – or is he. Like we see so often ( and I hate) the media shows only one side, the side that sells the most, regardless of the truth or who is hurt by the story. Still, I enjoyed the growing( and growling) romance between the two, and the dilemma Melina faced.  It’s a kind of simple plot – light and easy to read, with some humour and a decent romance. These types of read are rarely five star for me, though they are for many others, but I find they are perfect for filling a gap when I want a lighter read, or for people with limited time to enjoy novels. Nothing is explored in any real depth, the story and plots are very surface based, and of course the length of just over 200 pages doesn’t allow for too much detail. Within those restrictions though is a fun read, perfect for when you want something easy to relax with.   Stars:  Four, fun story.,  ARC provided by Netgalley and publishers

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review Melina Rae Rosenthal lived her entire life repeating her mantra, "Life is not a fairy tale". Her best friend was Colleen. Hayden Dean was San Francisco's business mogul millionaire magnet. Melina works for Celebrity Crush Magazine but longs to work for Eclipse, the city's leading fashion magazine. Gabriel Park was Hayden's pack mate, secondary, and most trusted friend. He got Hayden out of so many sticky situations he deserved a metal. Lydia Hyde was pack mate and co-founder of Dean, Hyde, and Hamilton and managing editor of Eclipse Magazine. Hayden was a 200yr old turned wolf. He'd been adopted by Angus Dean who was San Fransisco's wolf pack Alpha. He'd died last year. Hayden must have a make over if he wants to be named Alpha. If Hayden took everything more seriously, maybe the council would take him more seriously. A leader of a rogue pack identifies himself as Archer. The rogues state that they won't watch Hayden, a turned wolf, become leader of the wolf pack. First thing to change, per Melina was to go to a stylist. Melina was hurt once by Hayden. She planned eventually to get revenge. She was goal-oriented. She loved fashion. and she wanted to find Prince Charming but she stopped looking. She was caring, determined and could hold a grudge. Hayden was supposed to be a party boy who'd had his share of women. He was strong, private and very few people really knew him. He trusted few, but he was caring and noble. He did a lot of growing during the twists and turns of this story to become the Alpha he was meant to be. I enjoyed this and recommend it.

I was in the mood for a shifter book, and what I thought would be a fun but standard shifter tale is really a brilliant book! The writing is impeccable, the characters are multifaceted and captivating, the world building is very imaginative, and it’s action-packed, there are some hot, sexy moments, and so easy to read. I loved how the sparks almost literally flew between Melina and Hayden! I was completely captivated by the story right from the beginning. I love all the little details, such as the décor in Hayden’s apartment, especially when it comes to a specific painting, which is important to the story. The dialogues sound entirely genuine, I loved how the dynamics between Melina and Hayden progress. Melina strikes a hard bargain: although her purpose for having taking the job is to advance her career goals, doing so she must help Hayden and see that he succeeds in his quest, and things do not turn out as planned. Most of what is expected in a shifter tale is there but with clever little details that makes it very special. If you like paranormal romance, you definitely should read THE WEREWOLF WEARS PRADA because it's excellent! I hope it will be the start of a new series because it's really great and I would like to see more books in this fabulous world, especially if Kristin Miller writes them.
