Alex

I know the game. I know the angle. I know how to make you beg.

My hands on your body, my mouth hovering over yours—I’ll tell you everything you want to hear. Ten inches of real estate never felt so good.

But don’t take my word for it. My client list is long and my motto is short—one single thrust and you’re mine. I’m not good at what I do, I’m fantastic. But satisfaction doesn’t come cheap. So open your wallet and prepare to forget your name. I’m about to ruin you for any other man.

One single thrust and you’re mine.

Wow! This had one of my least favorite type of Heros and I loved him! How did that happen??? In the first chapter, I was disgusted by Alex and just knew I was not gonna like this book. He was way too arrogant and every move he made was deliberate and well practiced. He's a male escort and completely played the part. Despite my prediction, the words flowed so easily and I was rivited to what was unfolding. By the end, Alex was still arrogant, but I loved what I saw beneath all that arrogance. It helped that Olivia was feisty and made Alex work for her. She fought every step and he dominated. I wasn't expecting him needing to heal her and not the other way around. And how this author showed two men, one you should lean on and one you should run away from only to find out that the opposite was true. Brilliant! I couldn't stop reading! I'm in awe that this author put some of my pet peeves in a book and made me love it. This was way more than I was expecting and I'm salvitating for the next in the series.

Thrust by Sybil Bartel Hot, Wild, Wicked and Wonderful…did I mention HOT? This was a book that I could not put down once I started reading it. As I read a few of the characters sounded familiar so I checked and found that I had read about them in the Uncompromising Series and wondered if this was another in the series or just a sidebar novel that needed to be told…whatever it is…it enthralled me. And, I can hardly wait to read whatever Sybil Bartel writes next. Many romance novels that I have recently read have dealt with men who come home from war and their ability or inability to deal with what they have experienced. In this book the main character, Alex Vega, came up with his own way of taking control – he became a male escort – providing services for money. He had a five year plan and was doing well for himself until he met Olivia Toussaint. Yes, she turned his world upside down and made him rethink his life, his plans and a whole lot more. And Alex managed to shake Olivia’s life up, too. Alex may seem cold and clinical in some ways but underneath it all he does seem to care about some of his clients and look out for them so when Olivia appears on the scene it is not totally surprising that he acts, reacts to, shares with and cares for her as he does. Olivia is a strong woman who thinks she knows who and what she needs but Alex makes her reassess and then make decisions that will have a huge impact on her and her plans. There is a lot that happens in this book – in and out of the bedroom. This is a love story that was deeper than I expected it to be and one that I gladly recommend to others – unless they don’t like mature reading of an erotic nature. It made me think and feel and care and then want in more ways than one. Great characters, great story – just great! Thank you to the author who through NetGalley gave me a copy of this splendid book to read. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

Steamy with lots of drama and emotion. I loved both of these characters. The story is fast paced and really draws you in. The sex is off the charts hot! I loved it!

I really enjoyed this story. Great character development, and I loved that the story was told from both POV. Wish it was longer...but no cliffhanger!!!

Alex is a dirty dirty bird and I absolutely adored that about him. He's a high end escort who has no qualms at all about the job he does or the life he leads. He's got an end game, he's got a plan, and for right now raking in the dough through his escort service is just fine for him. He's got rules, and when he breaks one of those rules - attending a function with a client, he meets someone unexpected and his life changes. Olivia's got one goal in mind, having a successful charity auction so she can see her dream realized of being able to train service animals for veterans. It means so much to her, becuase of a personal tragedy so when a chance encounter with a stranger throws things off track and appears to have ruined it all, Olivia is very upset. But there's more to it than that, she's got a life long friend, she'd at one time wanted more than anything throwing moves her way and it feels all wrong. I really liked how Olivia realizes quickly that what she thought she wanted from her friend, a real relationship between them, wouldn't work and that he's not really the man she thought he was. I like how their disentegrating friendship mixes in with the friendship turned relationship building between her an Alex. It gives a certain complexity to the story. Alex is blown away by his connection to this woman, who is unlike any of his clients and with whom he can't seem to do anything right. Taking a chance to not only make things right for Olivia and her goals, he attempts to get to know her better, and in doing so realizes that he can't go back to the man he was before. He's smart, he's solid, I really liked how Alex was determined to win over Olivia nd see where they'd find themselves. In between the interactions with Alex as he tries to get to know Olivia better and figure out what their connection means, Olivia is dealing with a friendship gone weird which adds to the drama of the book. Thrust was a wild emotional ride about two people who've been through a lot in the past, two people who randomly find one another and in that connection find more than they ever expected. For Olivia, she's got a man who believes in her, one who wants to see her achieve her dreams, but also wants her to do it for the right reasons and not misguided ones. And Olivia sees Alex's worth, even when she's upset. I really enjoyed the way the relationship between these two blossomed and grew from one initial meeting that went oh so bad to something they needed on many levels. How Alex helped her see the truth of her friendship, how he helped her understand the tragedy she let haunt her, and how she helped him see his true worth. Sybil Bartel pulled an amazing story together for Alex and Olivia; one that was emotional and heart felt, but also steamy and fun.

God lord this man is the complete package...wink...wink! "What should have been pure hatred for Alex was dangerously morphing into a frack-my-life obsession. “Liv?” Would it be too obvious to go grab my phone to see? “I heard you.” I needed to get a grip. “Your turn.” I didn’t know c*cks came that big. “For what?” My last boyfriend lied to me. Size totally mattered." 4.5 Stars of Hot Swinging Man Meat! Alex is off the charts, steaming, money having, former marine, male escort, alpha yumminess...my goodness this man is dirty in all the right ways. He will dominate you, he will make you squirm, he will cause uncomfortable shifting in your seat to scratch that itch. I think this is the hottest man Sybil has written yet. Complete salaciousness full of erotica! Plus there is a tad bit of a love triangle that will keep you guessing. A must-read that will make you sweat!

This is my first book by this author but it definitely won't be my last. The writing style drew me in from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading until the story was done. Alex is a high-end male escort. He loves his job and has no desire to change his employment in the near future. Usually, his dates are bedroom only but when a client has an offer he can't refuse, he agrees to a date at an art auction. It's on this date that he finds Olivia. The attraction to her is immediate but since Alex doesn't date outside of work, he thinks he can turn her into a client. Olivia has no interest in cougar-magnate Alex. She just wants her auction to be successful so she can launch her non-profit, service dog training for veterans. When Alex's drama ruins her auction, he does everything he can to right the wrong. When Olivia finds out what Alex does for a living, is she going to be able to forgive and forget or will it be more than she can handle? I was drawn to this book by the description and I loved it! Neither Alex nor Olivia are pushovers so this lead to some pretty explosive chemistry between them. I thought the ending wrapped up pretty quickly and I was left with some questions about other characters. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author! *This is my voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy*

This is the first book that I've read by Sybil Bartel. I definitely was not disappointed. From the very first page I couldn't put it down. Alex was a true Alpha male with a side of serious ego to boot. Olivia was a headstrong innocent beauty with confidence showing on the outside but doubt riding through her insides. They were the perfect match for each other from the beginning, even with Olivia fighting the pull. I loved their battle of wits and Alex's determination to not give up no matter what his head, and other outside factors, kept saying. I loved the secondary character's that were thrown into the book. But I have to say I was a little off put with Jesse. I mean, seriously, if he really cared about Olivia he would have helped her with her demons instead of waiting 2 years and constantly walking away. I was thrilled when Olivia finally realized where her heart truly belonged. I would love to read more about these two and really see their HEA. I definitely am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series when they come out, especially Dane's story.
