Overview

Following years of self-inflicted isolation, beautiful Brynn Moore has met the one man that could give her the love and life she has denied herself. But Creed Alexander isn't like anyone she's met before. After falling in love with her, Creed tells Brynn about his genetic abnormality. Creed commits to Brynn that he will find a way to have both her and his anomaly in his life at the same time. But winning over the love and faith of a tortured, savvy and beautiful young lady like Brynn is going to be more difficult than he thought. Even an extraordinary, smart man like Creed, who is considered the Chameleon of others like him, has enemies. Threatening to destroy the future he desperately longs for, the real risk lies behind the loss of his true and mastered trait, love. Will Creed find his way through a tangled web of deception, love gained and threatened, and still be able to come out strong in the end? In THE TRAIT, Creed will have to learn that the trait that has plagued him is also the one thing that could save him.

If it hadn't been for the prologue introducing the story in a unique way, I might've quit reading early on. Starting off the main book with Brynn heading into a women's clinic would have normally induced me to shut the book. Brynn's continued feeling of regret for her decision (a miscarriage prevented her from following through on the abortion) helped me feel more comfortable with the novel. I liked Kristin's treatment of the theme. Even though THE TRAIT starts with the consequences of premarital relations, the story you read is clean with no sex scenes. If you like futuristic books with elements of romance, you will probably like this book. I am planning to read the rest of the series. **Goodreads Giveaway**

This book was good. Little slow reading at times. Four different books in series.

I like the idea of mutations as a diability. It reminds me of the "Wild Cards" series. Unfortantly in this book the author decides to flip it around about halfway and make the characters super heros. The main character, Brinn, whines during most of the book, and creates a lot of drama for her self. The book feels like the author is meandering around with plots and can't decide what to do with the story. It an ok read, but not good enough for me to want to read any more of the series.

1 star Cannot recommend this book I made as far as page 64 and that was a chore. This book is written as a narrative, explaining the characters emotions, their behavior, their interactions instead of writting a story that will show them and nelp develop the characters. I felt like I was reading a pychological report on the main character and her relationships. Glad it was free and I will be deleting this book. Recommend author take a few writing classes and find a good editor.

Very annoying main character! Brynn is so annoying. She's in her late 20s, but she acts like a 16 year old. The story is good, but I can't read the rest of the series.
