I will admit, this book has been on my kindle for a while, and I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. Once I started reading it, I honestly couldn’t figure out why it took me so long to read it! Even though it has been a few months since I read Tattoo Thief, I was able to dive right into this one without any worries. (So keep that in mind if you haven’t read Tattoo Thief yet!) Anywho, back to this book… I loved Stella and Tyler! They were so great together, and even though in the beginning I was wondering where the story was going, I completely loved the two of them. I especially loved how Tyler isn’t perfect. (Trust me, once you read the story, you will get it!) Stella’s character was a great one for sure. There were some parts of her that were very lifelike, and it makes you wonder if you actually know people in your lives because of how real it was. Overall, I did completely love this book and I already have book 3 loaded up and ready to go on my kindle. This series is a complete must read from me! I really liked the first book Tattoo Thief but I like this one even better. I liked everything about this book, its characters, story, world building just everything also like that we got a closer look at the band and how they are with each other. Since we didn’t get a lot of that in the last book. Like I said in my last review about Tattoo Thief, I didn’t care much for Stella but this book made me like her.. a lot.  That doesn’t excuse the things she done but forgiven and even a little understood from where she stood. I really did learn to like her, the more I got to know of her and her past , flaws and all. Though she had a few moments in the book where she deserved a nice “wake up “shake.  She really grew into her new role even if she didn’t know yet, what the role is. I felt bad for her when dealing with all the paparazzi but she did great. Tyler, man what can I say about Tyler? He was a little confusing at first just by his action but that changed. I really did enjoy him and his story. You just can't help yourself and love him. We met Violet in this book and I like her already and I cannot wait to read the next book about her and Jayce. Who is also an interesting character who seems to be a playboy through and through , but I have a feeling there is much more to him. Overall, I couldn’t put his book down and finished it in one sitting and I rate it at 4 ½

Tyler & Stella is the second book in author Heidi Joy Trethway’s Tattoo Thief and the first in the series I have read.  Well, after reading this book I have added this series as one I will be looking forward to more from.  I freaking loved this book! Anxiously looking for a way to further her music journalism career, Stella Ramsey knows she is holding that very thing in the palm of her hand.  Literally.  But she also knows that if she leaks what she has, she won’t just be reporting an über exclusive piece on Tattoo Thief, she will be risking losing her best friend and her best friend’s trust.  Without really thinking her actions through, she leaks it anyway and regrets it immediately.  Now Stella finds herself having to gain her friend’s trust back.  She also has to get more stories on Tattoo Thief, which means she’s going to have to gain their trust back as well.  Enter Tyler Walsh.  As Tattoo Thief’s hot and sexy bassist he steps in and gives her a chance to fix things while giving her material for a story.  Tyler seems to good to be true but Stella knows all about the bad boy rocker types.  The thing is, Tyler keeps surprising her.  He turns out to be unlike any preconceived notion she had about him and that becomes dangerous.  Dangerous because Stella doesn’t do the whole nice guy thing.  She’s used to dysfunction and hurt.  It’s all she’s known when it comes to guys.  Could Tyler be the one to change her mind?  The better question is, would Stella ever feel worthy of a guy like Tyler? Rock star bassist Tyler Walsh has learned the hard way that he’s got to keep his guard up.  He went from awkward teen to gorgeous and sexy rock star in such a short amount of time that he still isn’t used to all the attention that comes along with it. It was hard believing a girl wanted him for him and not just his fame and face.  Then came Stella.  She was kind of a mess when they met and he knew he could help her.  He wanted to help her.  The problem was he had to keep her at arms length until he got to know her better.  Tyler finds himself hoping beyond hope that Stella could see past all the hype and into who he really is.  He was willing to give her everything if she could do just that. The attraction and chemistry between Tyler and Stella is positively delicious and they both feel it.  But with old trust issues and constantly being in the spotlight, will they be able to find something true and real in a world of hype and tabloids? *Dreamy sigh* Oh, how I loved this book.  From the very beginning the story grabbed me and I was kept in its hold until the very end.  I devoured it in 24 hours and loved every minute.  Stella is kind of a mess.  She drinks too much and hurt her good friend.  She’s got a messed up past that has cut her deeply emotionally and in turn has made her self worth take a nosedive.  But I loved her.  She is raw and fresh at the same time.  She wasn’t the flawless heroine that every guy drools over and I truly enjoyed that facet of her as a character.  As for Tyler, all I can say is: yes, please!  Talk about the complete opposite of the rock god persona.  He is so amazing.  He’s the good guy in a bad boy role.  He’s kind and warm and has a huge heart.  He’s got his share of secrets that he holds close to his vest and rightfully so.  He treats Stella with such care both physically and emotionally and I absolutely fell in love with him.  He is one of those book guys that I will hold future book guys next to for quite some time.  I think one of the reasons I enjoyed this story so much was that Stella and Tyler’s roles were almost reversed.  She was the one in need of love and kindness and he was the one who had so much love to give.  The build up of heat between them was perfect.  It was ever present but acting on it was something that took time and when it finally happened it was sublime.   The secrets that both Stella and Tyler are keeping are two pretty big doozies and I let out a huge “whoa” when one of Tyler’s was revealed.  Never saw it coming throughout the whole book.  I love being shocked like that! Overall if you love a good guy saving a damsel in distress with a modern rock and roll twist, this is a book for you! Thank you, Heidi Joy, for an amazing story!  I can’t wait to see what’s next for Tattoo Thief!

I started the book after boarding and was done by the time I reached my destination. I could not put it down! I was completely wrapped in Tyler and Stella's world's and how their differences somehow made them the same. And there is such a great underlying theme of loyalty and the true meaning of friendship than ran so deep. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

I really liked the Tyler character. He is solid and strong and willing to sacrifice for others. I liked watching the progress that Stella made as a human being because in the beginning she was very not likable and I could not relate to her at all. Her character is crass and turns into a much better person with good qualities. *story has lots of sex and language*

I was given a ARC in exchange for my honest review. Gahhh where can I start? I have been super excited for Stella's story since I knew Heidi was going to write it! I couldn't wait to see what she had to say for herself and get inside her head and see if she was a horrible person or not. And I am so glad, because I love her! poor girl has so much going on in her life and has been through hell and back, stuff even her best friend Beryl had no idea about! and she meets bad boy Tyler and they seem to hit it off and he gives her and exclusive. Things don't go smoothly though, both these characters have trust issues and for differen't reasons. Tyler and Stella have a rocky start and many miss understandings. She seems to think Tyler is not interested in her and Tyler is trying to figure out if she is another groupie or something more. These two are epic UGH!! seriously. Tyler is not your typical "bad boy rocker" he is sweet, caring, charming, he is so much more and I LOVED HIM, I NEED one of him! I loved the first book and Gavin and Beryl, but this time around was even better. The characters were so much better, the story was, Heidi has grown and will continue to grow as a writer and I cannot wait to read Violet and Jayce's story next! if you loved the first Tattoo Thief you will fall in love with this romantic and epic book of awesomeness! let me just tell you Tyler Walsh is my new favorite rock star. And everyone knows how much I love rock stars ;-) he even gives Kellan Kyle a run for his money this story ;-) Can Stella and Tyler have a life together? or will his and her demons catch up and bite them on the butt? "Screw careful. Life's about being brave," "Life's short. If you don't seize the moment, you could miss it entirely." "You just prove good things come in small packages." "Especially then. Because I'll squeeze the suckiness right out of you." "Nothing. I just want you." "But the difference is, I wasn't going to let you get away. I fought for you, Stella, and I want you to fight for me." "You're everything I never planned." "From the moment I met you, Stella, I wanted you." "I can't promise they'll go away, but I can promise you that no one will question who I'm with. Including you." "The best thing about being here right now is being with you." "It is easy, Stella. No matter how many women scream at Gavin and Tyler, we're the ones they picked." "So Stella's in the club now. The I-rescued-Tyler club. Don't piss her off too much because she's a keeper." "I'm fighting for you, Tyler. I'm going to fight to stay." "Safety check complete, captain? Are we ready for takeoff?" "Go, Tyler. Let's fly." "It's not about what we deserve, remember, Tyler? It's grace, forgiveness, and maybe luck."

This is a book that will draw you in and keep you reading. I didn't want to put it down. Tyler and Stella are both broken by life, the question is can the two of them heal each other. Tyler comes from a frugal upbringing and has come into major success with his band. Stella came from money but circumstances have her broke and homeless. There are issues that they must overcome in order to learn to trust and love each other. Is the attraction they feel strong enough to allow them to open up their hearts to love? I had to keep reading to see what would happen next. Stella’s life is a train-wreck and she has done some things that make it hard for Tyler to trust her. Tyler, however, feels a connection but has secrets of his own that make a relationship between the two questionable. The author pulls you in and keeps you entertained throughout the story. She makes you eager for the next story of tattoo thief to be written.
