Extremely hardcore BDSM

If you are not into BDSM, truly into it, it's not for you. I don't suggest that you pick up this book unless you are not squeamish and you enjoy extremely hardcore BDSM and senseless violence. I have to say that this book was difficult to for me to read. Jacob struggle against becoming not much more than an obedient dog capable of performing complex tricks and providing sexual pleasure when Lady Lyssa demands. It also bothered me that rape was considered a spectator sport serving to arouse the watchers and physical torture, such as broken bones and the like, was something utilized as easily as a hanky for no other purpose than proving who held the power.

OMG.....this Series is Soooo Good!

This series is sooo good! When I first started this book I wanted to give it away, dump it in the local thrift store, or donate it to my local library...I just wanted to get rid of it... I could barley get into it...So much erotica, and I am not a hugh fan of that... But.... OMG, get pass that and you will be thrilled to have read this. What a treat!

You have to wait till the end of this book and the beginning of the next book and you will be so happy! You will fall in love with this series ...At least I did. I cant wait to read it again...this series (Vampire Queen and Vampire Servant) is awesome!

Gross

I'm a fan of adult novels. I've read a lot of them through out my adult life and enjoyed them all in the end even if it started of slow but this book is not my favorite. In fact, I don't think I will ever buy another book from this author. The whole story was disgusting. I did not like Lyssa's personality at all and the way she treats Jacob like some sex toy is enough to make me want to throw up. His character for a male was completely weak. They way he keeps running back to her after all the torturing she puts him through just makes me sick. He's completely stupid! I mean, I read some novels where the writer makes the heroine tough and strong minded to the point where it gets irritating but at least she becomes a likable character at some point in the story but this Lyssa character was awful to the end. Just my personal opinion. Please don't be offended if you're a Joey Hill fan but I'll never buy another one of her books. This was my first book from her and my first impression of her style of writing. I don't like it at all.

sexually exciting

If you are looking for a book full of explicit sex with some graphic violence and a descent plot then you've found a winner! Parts were a little cheesy but not enough to stop me from reading. Awaiting the second book to arrive in the mail.

The Best Vampire Story I have ever read

This book is HOT!!! The Vampire Queen Series is a great past time for reading even though I couldnt peel myself away from it. All the books that are in the series are also read alone books but the series is great too when you get to meet all the characters.

Very Disappointing!

Yuck! I love Vampire/Paranormal Erotica, but these vampires are awful! No redeeming qualities whatsoever. I love tortured heroes/heroines, but in this book the heroine is just cruel.

Excellent!

This is great vampire reading. I loved the book all the way through. It was just sexy enough without going overboard. I am glad this is the first in the series as I would like to read more.

Excellent

I enjoyed this book and this series very much. If your not into erotica or anything along those lines then do not read this series. If you do not like Lady Lyssa in this book, you have to finish the story of these two in the next. Finally, you cannot really rate a book if you have not finished it. So for those who started and did not finish, keep going. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Was ok.

I did not personally enjoy this book. I managed to make myself read it through to the end hoping it would get better and better. It just did not do it for me. Don't think I will get the next book in the series either. Sorry...just wasn't for me and I love the vampire romance erotica books too. I was sad at how much it cost for an ebook as well.

I love this series. It is really not for anyone who does not enjoy BDSM or reading it. the vampires in this series treat humans comparable to the way humans treat their pets. Some humans are more cruel to their pets than others. The same with the characters in this series. I have read all 8 books in this series so far and I enjoy the total kinkyness of them. You might think I'm some wierd pervert guy. Not at all, I'm a 56 yr. old grandmother working in a cccounting firm and I'm Wiccan.

This is a great book if you are a man hater

I usually love these kinds of novals, but this one left a bad taste in my mouth. I kept waiting for the queens abusive cruelty of Jacob to stop, for her to change into a better vampire that would respect or acknowledge the kind of love and devotion jacob gave her OR jacob would stake her for the abuse she gave him. After the dinner scene I stopped reading. There comes a point when you feel as though the writter has taken you on an abusive, sadistic ride and you just want OFF!! If your an abusive, violent, man hating women than this is the book for you. I gave it two stars only for Jacobs character which was compelling and heart-wrenching. I don't like books that make you feel bad all the way through:-(

Pretty Depressing

Love the genre and not afraid of the rough sexuality of this book,but it was a downer. Well written, I can see why people enjoy the author, but the story had no hope, everyone was crappy to everyone else, everyone hurt everyone else with no real feeling that it was ever going to get better for the characters.

Good Read

A good mix of drama, and vampire lore. A good book to just delve into and escape a hard day at the office.

Love it!

I'm a voracious reader of all kinds of fiction. I was surprised by Joey W. Hill's Vampire Queen series. It doesn't rush you into action that doesn't make sense. Time for plot development, character awareness. What a great read, I could hardly put it down! I love it when I find an author that keeps my attention! Especially one that I didn't see coming. Since I'm late coming to this party, I'll have hours and hours and hours of thorough enjoyment over my Summer!

Not main stream at all

This is the first time i have read a book like this, that actually had a pretty good story along with all the sex very captivating from the beginig it was unlike any vamp story i have read before

Very disappointing

I could only get through about 50 pages in this book. The female character in here was such a loser. She was unlikable, annoying and it was so distracting that I had to discontinue reading it. A waste of time, in my opinion.

Emothinally satisfying

I got very lost emotionally in this book, yearned to become Lady Lyssa and have Jacob all to myself.
