Wonderful book to start a dialogue regarding death, without calling it out specifically.

The message in this book is concisely simple and classically stated. I keep it in my daycare for children dealing with death, and have given it to families who are grieving. It's sweet and powerful, and good for any age.

    Words of Faith

This inspired work is definitely meant to give hope in the midst of loss through faith in what cannot be seen. This author has given words to an experience in the human heart that is willing to believe in life beyond oneself. The theme of eternal love and eternal life clearly shines through this book enabeling healing on the level of soul to occur.

    Healing

This book utilizes nature and the natural order of creation to describe death, dying, and transformation for children to understand with clarity and hope. This small book is easy to read and share with anyone at any age.

    Excellent for children AND adults!

A pastor gave us this book for my 3 year old son when my Dad died. It is a wonderful story that doesn't "scream death." It is thought provoking, yet offers possible answers to questions at the same time. I have given this book to other friends whose children are grieving. It is always appreciated.

I purchased this book for a friend's son who's father had just died of suicide.

This is an excellent book for the very difficult task of explaining death to a child. It's a beautiful story about water bugs becoming dragon flies and how they are unable to go back to water bugs and explain why they are no longer there due to their beautiful wings. He is a six year old child and seem to make sense to him in a way that he felt comforted that his dad was still watching over him even though he couldn't be there with him. I recommend this for anyone with a child under 13 to help explain this life changing issue.

Beautifully written -- wonderful for all ages

Beautifully written story that uses nature to help explain, or consider, death in a comforting and hopeful way. It doesn't speak of death directly, so how deeply a person sees the metaphor is really up to him. It is very appropriate and helpful for all ages. I have used it with my young children who lost their dad. It helped us all. I've also recommended it to many people experiencing grief, and all who have read it have been very moved by it and have appreciated the book. Higly recommend. Such a very sweet book.

Beautiful book, incredibly comforting for all ages

This book has been so helpful to me in discussing death with my small children. It is beautifully done, and the nature analogy can grow and deepen as a person grows older. Highly recommend -- especially for comfort for anyone grieving.
