I was immediately swept up into the Medieval world of lords and ladies and thoroughly enjoyed the fast-paced adventure! The dashing Laird Malcolm MacNeill swept me off my feet as much as I enjoyed the spunky Lady Anice who was his equal. Malcolm's brothers were just as appealing as was their Viking companion and the small boy who was taken under Lady Anice's care was a delight. I felt as though I was seeing England and Scotland in the past, when my own ancestors were roaming the countryside. I just couldn't put the book down and highly recommend this to all my friends. I look forward to Ms. Spear's sequel to Winning the Highlander's Heart.

I was hooked right from the beginning! I haven't been this engrossed in a novel since Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code! Talk about a page turner! This was a terrific book with a great plot and even better characters. The heroine was very strong in that she refused to give up the quest to right the wrongs at her castle and the hero was to die for!

Winning the Highlander's Heart is just that. Two independent Highlanders, both proud and stubborn, reluctant to let another into their hearts. Anice believes she is completely capable of handling her life without the need for a man. She is a strong, believable heroine, trapped by medieval society¿s conventions. The Highlander Malcolm is braw, strong and everything that is noble and desirable in a man. There is something about a good, strong Highland romance that stirs the soul. Winning the Highlander's Heart is a story of true romance and adventure. It is definitely worth reading on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Anice, Lady of Brecken, is dealt a dilemma from which she must escape. The notion of an arranged marriage is something this strong-willed and sympathetic heroine cannot tolerate. She plots an escape that lands her in the arms and heart of soul-stirring Highlander and Earl of Pembrinton, Malcolm Macneill. Throughout the various ordeals confronting them and threatening to rip their burgeoning romance asunder, Malcolm proves the perfect mate and foil for Anice. At the creative hand of Ms. Spear, suspense meshes with intimacy and espionage to provide a novel which readers will reach for time and again. The attention to historical period detail is one of several reasons I will seek more of her books for my reading pleasure in the future. From first page to last, I was captivated and swept into the vivid world of yesteryear so deftly written by Ms. Spear. For any reader who enjoys historical romances, I highly recommended WINNING THE HIGHLANDER¿S HEART.
