    Lots of Action!

Wired is a fast paced thriller from start to finish. It's got a bit of science fiction thrown in with the genetic manipulation creating super intelligence. Sure wish it wasn't fiction, I could use something like that!

The characters were ok. Desh and Kira were likeable, though maybe not 100% believable as real people. Kira seemed a little too good at the action stuff for a scientist. Desh did have a soft side to counteract his tough soldier qualities.

The story was written well and paced just right. It kept my attention throughout, and I think it will keep yours.

    Just Must Read

Douglas E. Richards is a molecular biologist by training and especially if you are touched by science you will find this book very compelling. The storyline will get you in a trans-like state and venues are well-selected and realistic. If you are searching for a fast-paced and escalated story, with a bit of mystery seasoning - one of the best books. The book reads like a movie, with vivid imaginations turning up several times per page.

    Great read

David Desh retired from the military after a mission went terribly wrong. His former boss calls him back for one more mission, tracking down Kira Miller who is believed to be working with terrorists to distribute the Ebola virus. As David is just beginning to search for Kira she kidnaps David and tried to get him to become her ally. David discovers that things are not always what they seem and he must use all his skills to keep him, Kira and the rest of his friends alive. This was a great book and I did not see the twist at the end coming. I would highly recommend this book.

    "WIRED" (REVIEW)

What I really enjoyed about this book was the man named Desh in charge of finding Kira was a former Special Ops agent with the military stationed in Fort Bragg, NC which is just down the road from Fayetteville, NC where I live. It helped bring the story home for me. This story was well-plotted, and written with the kind of intensity that keeps you rooted until the end. Douglas Richards is a man to watch, I'm sure he will gain much notoriety in the near future. His writing is full of twists and turns that leave you guessing.
In this particular novel Kira is a brilliant scientist suspected of helping the Jihad with links to Al Qaeda with the intent of creating a virus that easily mutates when introduced into a host by consumption of certain foods. Desh is put in charge of finding Kira to bring her in before it's too late only to find himself captured by her instead. What happens from there on out is a whirlwind of action and some unexpected truths about who Kira really is as well as her intentions.
This book is one you will not want to miss out on, especially those that are fans of covert operations and scientific war strategies.

Phenomenal book - can't wait for more from Richards!

This is absolutely one of the best books I've read in a very long time. The action sequences are taut and vividly described. Character development also is a strong point - you really feel that you've gotten to know the characters in a short period of time. But I think the best part of this is the thought-provoking nature of why the action takes place. Not only is this the way science fiction should read, this is the way ALL fiction should read.

    Great suspense

Douglas Richards provokes thought into the area of enhanced intelligence. He keeps the reader tuned in to the characters and their surroundings with the development of enhanced intelligence and its dangers. Great read!

Loved it! And I've read a LOT of sci-fi

I really enjoyed Wired. A good story, well told. I found it enjoyable and engrossing, with good characterization and writing.

And some mind-blowing concepts. I haven't enjoyed a sci-fi book this much for years (and I've read a lot of them).

Will definitely look for more by this author.

    Off the charts great read!

I'm already a fan of this author, but he's outdone himself with Wired. Any description I give won't do the book justice, so I'll just say this: read it! You'll be thanking me profusely when you're done.

    5 stars!!

A non-stop thrill ride, this book will keep you turning the pages right to the end! Intelligently written, reminicient of Michael Crichtons scientific, thought-provoking approach to story-telling, you will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone in this fast-paced thriller, just be sure to clear your schedule, as you won't be able to put it down! I'll sure be looking for the movie version in the future.

Awsome book in spite of the 'cheezy' cover

Thoroughly engaging... could not put it down! I hope he expands this to a "Wired" Trilogy! I'd really like to know what happens to our heros after the close of Wired! I read 4-5 books a week, and after reading Wired have realized two things: 1. That I hadn't read such a truly engaging book in quite a while 2. That I should hop on-line and buy all his books (I did!)

    Solid fast paced action thriller.

I received this book for free from Librarything. I am not a Sci-Fi book fan but I read good things about this author so I requested this book. I am very glad that I received WIRED. This is a very good read. The storyline, while somewhat sci-fi-ish, is well laid out and developed. I really appreciated the depth of characters, their development, and interaction. The story is engrossing, fast paced, and interesting. I recommend this book to anyone interested in a fast paced action read. Don't let the sci-fi tags distract you. The writing style is entertaining and addicting. Read other reviews for the story details as I don't want to add any spoilers. I would rate 4.5 stars if that was an option.

Lots of smart action. I enjoyed the fact that the science was explained well enough to sound plausible.

    Absolute drivel

This book should have been penned under the pseudonym "No Talent Hack". The writing is absolutely atrocious, full of cliched lines such as "You're in over your head, Bill. You're playing with fire". It's almost worth the seventy-nine cents for a laugh, but would be better suited as an example for high school creative writing classes on what NOT to do.
