An American author and screenwriter, George R. R. Martin is best known for his epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire. The bestselling series, which began with A Game of Thrones, inspired the popular HBO television series of the same name. The series will conclude with the forthcoming books The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

George R. R. Martin is an author famously known for writing the A Song of Ice and Fire series which inspired the hit TV series, Game of Thrones. A Game of Thrones is the first book in the series and was published in 1996. There are currently 5 written books out of the planned 7 titles. The 6th forthcoming book, The Winds of Winter, has been highly anticipated by readers and fans of the TV series.
