George R. R. Martin is an author famously known for writing the A Song of Ice and Fire series which inspired the hit TV series, Game of Thrones. A Game of Thrones is the first book in the series and was published in 1996. There are currently 5 written books out of the planned 7 titles. The 6th forthcoming book, The Winds of Winter, has been highly anticipated by readers and fans of the TV series. Those who can’t get enough of the fictional world of Westeros and Essos can read some of the other novellas he’s written in this world including The Princess and the Queen or, the Blacks and the Greens which gives a little background on Targaryen history before the Game of Thrones series takes place.
