Clive Cussler

Clive Cussler (1931-2020) authored more than fifty books in five bestselling series, including Dirk Pitt, NUMA Files, Oregon Files, Isaac Bell, and Sam and Remi Fargo. In real life, Cussler founded and served as chairman of the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), which has discovered more than 60 shipwreck sites and numerous other notable underwater wrecks. Also, like his character Dirk Pitt, Cussler was a avid collector of classic automobiles. many of which are displayed at Arvada, Colorado's Cussler Museum.

Clive Cussler was an underwater explorer by day and adventure author by night, making his fiction thriller stories that much more exciting. Inspired by his sea explorations, he wrote many books on ocean adventures including Atlantis, Titanic, shipwrecks, sunken treasure, and more. In addition to his fiction books, he wrote a few nonfiction books about his shipwreck explorations including The Sea Hunters and Dirk Pitt Revealed. His popular book series include Dirk Pitt Adventures with 25 titles, The NUMA Files with 18 titles, The Oregon Files with 15 titles, the Isaac Bell Adventures with 12 titles, and the Fargo Adventures with 12 titles. Additionally, he wrote two children's books. Clive Cussler's books should generally be read in order of the series, except for Dirk Pitt in which Pacific Vortex was published after The Mediterranean Caper but is first in the series chronologically.
