Cormac McCarthy (1933) is an award-winning American novelist, playwright, and screenwriter known for his spare prose and brutal imagery. He is considered one of the best authors of second half of the 20th century. His best-known books include The Road, All the Pretty Horses, and No Country For Old Men, all of which have been adapted into films; film adaptations of Blood Meridian, have also been attempted, but none have been successfully completed.
