William Gibson

William Gibson is an American & Canadian speculative fiction writer widely credited with pioneering the science fiction subgenre known as cyberpunk. Gibson notably coined the term "cyberspace" in his short story "Burning Chrome" and later popularized the concept in his acclaimed debut novel Neuromancer . In later works—like Pattern Recognition and Count Zero—he gradually moved away from science fiction and futuristic work, instead writing about the strange contemporary world we inhabit.
