With over 4 million students worldwide and learning centers in 56 countries, Kumon empowers students to learn on their own through "The Kumon Method," it's step-by-step individual approach. For pre-K through 8 grade students, the Kumon book series can be used to supplement a variety of subjects such as: basic skills, verbal skills, math, thinking and learning, science, and geography.
What is the Kumon Method at home?
"The Kumon Method" is an educational method developed to increase your child's learning and independence through worksheet-based activities and in person or virtual tutoring. Children advance in subjects through a step-by-step approach making sure that they grasp one concept before moving on to the next. Kumon worksheets provide examples, empowering students to understand and implement concept on their own. Daily learning assignments take approximately 30 minutes to complete and are divided between at home practice and two days a week with a tutor at a Kumon Learning Center.
Is Kumon Korean or Japanese?
Kumon is Japanese. It was developed over 60 years ago as a way for a father, Kumon founder Toru Kumon, to help his son improve at math.
