Flowers from the Storm, by Laura Kinsale
This is one of the most beautiful romances I’ve ever read, and Kinsale’s hero Christian, the Duke of Jeveraux, is the reason why. After suffering a stroke (which some believe is punishment for his rakish behavior), the Duke has lost his ability to communicate. Maddy Timms is volunteering in his recovery center, and believes that she can help him regain his faculties. If you love romances where wounds thaw as romance blooms, this novel will keep you warm as the weather changes.
