We’re happy to introduce Dead Letters as out September Game of the Month – it’s a surreal word game where letters have a mind of their own and knowing your way around the alphabet is only the beginning.

It’s 1915 and you’re an employee of the Office of Dead Letters, where forgotten mail goes to die, surrounded by piles of undeliverable mail. Eventually, you drift off at your desk, and in your dream, the letters begin rearranging themselves.

It’s game for 1 to 7 players and it runs roughly 15-30 minutes.

At first glance, Dead Letters seems easy. You’ve got letter cards, you’re building words and you’re trying to get rid of the cards in your hand. However, this isn’t simply a race to prove who memorized the most obscure words in the dictionary. Players begin manipulating a central word board by adding or removing letters form their hands to create new words. Certain letters come with special powers, opening opportunities for clever plays and unexpected chain reactions. A word sitting in front of you is never quite safe.
