Quiz: Which Member of The Baby-Sitters Club Are You?

Everyone has their comfort reading material. For interminably 13-year-old Claudia Kishi, it’s Nancy Drew books, stashed all over her room. For me—and other ’80s and ’90s kids and their nostalgia-loving offspring—it’s Ann M. Martin’s The Baby-Sitters Club. And even though no new BSC books are currently being published, there’s still plenty of material to choose from, with 131 regular titles, 15 super specials, a prequel, a series of mysteries, and even some new graphic novel versions of beloved BSC books from Smile author Raina Telegemeier.

After poring over the descriptions of Claud’s outrageous outfits (which look great on her but on anyone else would look insane), Stacey’s sophisticated demeanor (she’s from New York City, you know), Dawn’s healthy eating choices (she’s such an original), Kristy’s love of all things sporty (see: the baseball cap always perched on her head), Mary Anne’s mousy romanticism (which must count for something since she’s the only member with a steady boyfriend), Mallory’s love of writing and horse stories (and loathing of how her parents treat her like a baby even though she’s 11 years old), and Jessi’s graceful mannerisms (she’s a dancer, you guys)—perhaps you’re wondering, where would I fit into the BSC? Well, have we got the most dibbly fresh quiz for you.
Warning: If you’re taking this in hopes that you’ll end up being associate members Logan Bruno or Shannon Kilbourne or—good god, seriously?—late-to-the-game BSC member Abby Stevenson, please just stop reading right now because I. Just. Can’t. Even.
Now bust out your pen and paper (you can rip a sheet out of the club notebook—just don’t tell Kristy), because we’re doing this quiz old-school, Teen magazine–style.

Now tally up those answers. The results are:
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly A’s: You’re Kristy Thomas. You’re assertive, loud, and bossy, but you own it. You’re a natural problem-solver, and you know nothing would get done if you weren’t around. Hello—the Baby-Sitters Club was your idea, after all. Your style is no-nonsense in terms of personality and fashion, and you don’t understand how someone could actually enjoy shopping—unless it’s for sporting equipment.
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly B’s: You’re Claudia Kishi. You’re passionate about creative pursuits, while academia isn’t really your strong suit. Your fashion choices are pretty avant garde. On anyone else, your ensembles would look totally insane, but on you? Let’s face it—the outfits still look insane. But you’ve got the confidence to pull it off. You’re also well aware that the only reason you’re club vice president is because you have your own phone line and an endless supply of Almond Joys.
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly C’s: You’re Mary Anne Spier. Most people would describe you as quiet and shy, but still waters run deep. You’re a romantic, cry easily, and are a sucker for a Southern accent. You’re also a loyal friend and keep a cool head in emergency situations. Your excellent penmanship makes you a great secretary—as does your ability to erase without ripping the page. You should consider adopting a kitten and naming him Tigger.
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly D’s: You’re Stacey McGill. You’re a sophisticated city slicker who seems way more mature than your friends, so it makes sense that your romantic interests skew a little older. Your mad math skills make you a natural choice for club treasurer. You’re open with your closest friends, but you tend to keep some things to yourself—after all, you’ve been burned by pals in the past. You also dot all of your i’s with a heart.
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly E’s: You’re Dawn Schaefer. No matter where you actually live, you’ve always got one foot firmly planted on the West Coast, which is part of why you appreciate the non-committal nature of being the club’s alternate officer. You’re a die-hard tree hugger and can’t fathom why someone would prefer a burger made with—gasp—red meat when they could have a delicious veggie burger with grilled kale instead. Friends describe your style as California casual even though no one really knows what that is.
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly F’s: You’re Mallory Pike. You either are or hope to be a writer or book illustrator someday. Coming from a big family has made you pretty patient, except when it comes to growing up—you can’t wait till everyone stops seeing you as a kid. Your older, cooler pal Claudia once described you as being “sturdy” (The Baby-Sitters Club #91: Claudia and the First Thanksgiving), whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Ships in 1-2 days.
Mostly G’s: You’re Jessi Ramsey. You’re graceful and lithe. You like to always have that just-came-from-ballet-class look, complete with hair up in a bun. You tend to have one best friend and are forever loyal to that person. You’re accustomed to hard work and are used to defying people’s expectations of you—unless that expectation is that you’re a dancer, because you totally are and don’t want anyone to ever forget it.
