Why We Love Again, But Better

We’re so excited to be launching our first YA Book Club with Again, But Better, by debut author Christine Riccio. While this is Christine’s first book, she is not new to the YA world: she is an established book tuber, reviewer, and all-around social media sensation.

Again, But Better is a coming-of-age story of second chances, discovering yourself, and being brave enough to try again in the face of adversity. Shane, our lead character, struggles with the disparity of expectation and reality…something we think is so important for any reader facing obstacles or hard decisions. This pick should lead to some great discussions on anxiety, independence, and entitlement.

Our Barnes & Noble YA Book Club Edition of Again, But Better, comes with an exclusive deleted scene provided by Christine.

Behind the Scenes with Christine Riccio

What was your favorite thing about writing Again, but Better?

My favorite thing was basically getting to study abroad again through Shane’s experience. I’m past the days when I could just jump to a new country for four months and start anew, but I got to relive that excitement through writing, which was a hoot.

You’ve asked for it. Our booksellers have asked for it. And now it’s here! The YA Book Club is a place for YA fans to gather in our stores across the country to discuss compelling stories and characters each month- asking What would you have done? For our summer launch, we will be featuring debut authors across genres. Join as we celebrate these new voices we can’t wait to hear more from.
