Israel Pope, Mountain Man

Mountain man and man hunter, Israel Pope was a calm, forgiving man. But attack him or his family and he became an efficient, stone cold killer.

Pope started out as a river boater, fur trapper, scout, wagon train master, horse rancher and bounty hunter - later in life he became a member of the Kiowa tribe with the name Bear Fighter.

Men and bears fell to his Bowie knife, rifle and tomahawk. A blood brother to the Kiowa's, he was a legend throughout the West.
