Maudlin of Nowhere

Returning to the place of my deepest shame poured cold terror over me, filled me with dread until my bones felt like winter clay. I feared the king-my former husband-and what he would do were I in his power again.

Then Orlo-intriguing, distracting, compelling-offered to accompany me. A shield against the king. But Orlo himself was a danger, albeit of a different sort. I had a task. Our new enemies would come, unless I could find a way to stop them.
