A police chief. A mysterious death. A son who never stopped asking why.
Robert Hamrick's life was a story of second chances. From a difficult childhood in the hills of West Virginia, through prison and redemption, he fought to become a police officer. As chief of Rock Creek, Ohio, he served a community where threats followed him home.
In March 1970, Robert pursued a car into the darkness. Hours later, he was found critically injured inside his wrecked cruiser. Ten days later, he was dead.
