A Life, With Dogs is an experimental memoir utilizing poetry and short stories to recount the loss of a parent and how to come to terms with that loss. The author uses memories from childhood interspersed with narratives of dealing with his father's declining health, trips to the VA hospital, and other situations that reveal a shift in his personal identity.
