About the Author

Born and raised in Eastern Sudan, Mohammed Eissa holds two bachelor’s degrees, one master’s degree final, a postgraduate diploma, and over 45 certificates ranging from healthcare and other diverse studies, national and international. He was an officer at (UN) United Nations and provided leadership as a Reproductive Health Officer for the (UNFPA) United Nations Population Fund sub-office in South Darfur, Sudan. He was honored to lead the UNFPA sub-office multiple times as the acting team leader serving East and South Darfur States in Sudan. Before joining the UN, he worked as a reproductive health coordinator for Medical Emergency Relief International in Sudan. Mohammed Eissa also served as a reproductive health manager for the American Refugee Committee International. He managed 16 health facilities that provided reproductive health services, including a Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care Center (CEmONC) later. In addition, he used to train medical staff on Minimum Initial Services Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health (RH) in crisis situations in South Darfur and received certificates of recognition twice.
Mohammed Eissa currently resides in the US. He has spent over 12 years in healthcare, primarily working in war zones where he witnessed devastating human crises and tragedies. Eissa’s experience in those war-torn areas enabled him to understand the significance of peace in the eyes of women, girls, and children. He has, thus, been an advocate of peace and humanity and has, over time, remained engaged in several programs emphasizing the same. This specific experience shaped the author’s opinion of working for peace from a different angle, a whole new perspective, leading him to carry out an array of peace-related activities, such as spiritual speaking.
Besides his experience as a healthcare provider in war-torn areas and the work he had done as a humanitarian and peace activist, Eissa worked in several other capacities. One of the prominent jobs he pursued was as a lecturer at a university in Sudan.
