El 16 de junio de 2021 se cumplen setenta años de la llegada y desembarco del Batallón Colombia en Corea. Esta unidad militar fue creada durante el gobierno del presidente Laureano Gómez para participar y apoyar a los Estados Unidos en la guerra que libraba contra el comunismo en esa nación asiática.
