I think this book puts the lit back in chick lit. It's fun but it's not your typical wide eyed girl in the big city book. It's much darker than that, which I liked. I'm tired of all those predictable chick lit plots. This book stirs it up. I'm a sucker for celebrity gossip, but this is more about New York City power players than stars and it gives a good behind the velvet ropes look and how those people are covered in the media.

I love celebrity gossip, so I couldn't resist this book. I have always been curious about how gossip columns are written and this book really shows the tricks of that trade. It's every bit as ugly as I expected, but I never knew gossip columnists were friends and traded items and favors with each other. This was all particularly interesting in the wake of the Page Six scandal, which I followed very closely. I would definitely recommend this to Brangelina and TomKat fans. It's also well written with good plot twists.

A friend passed on this book to me and I instantly loved it. I stayed up well past 2:00 AM for two days until I finished it. It was exciting, sexy, glamorous and fun. I also cared about all the characters and was sad when it ended. It's rare to find an insider's look at a rarefied world that is as smart and bittersweet as this book.

I heard about this book from a friend in media and didn't think I would like it. But it's not just all about the Manhattan mediarazzi. It's a dishy novel about young people in the city in a glamorous and soul sucking profession. There's love and scandal and family tension, too. I read the whole thing in 2 days!
