Bob has brought the Gospels to life. By supplementing the Gospels with incredible details surrounding the people, places, time, geography, attitudes and atmosphere this book reads like a novel. Its wonderful narrative allows the reader to both personalize and internalize our Lord and Savior and the formation of the Catholic Church. What a great book to pass around to family and friends.

I know the author of this book. He is actively involved in our church and dedicated to improving people’s lives through spiritual enrichment. Having worked on Wall Street for many years while also raising a family, Bob knows firsthand that life today can be incredibly hectic with little or no time for personal reflection. This book is a direct response to that dilemma. It compiles the four gospels into one easy to read volume broken down into short chapters that can be looked at during a free moment. The writing is straight forward and the research is meticulous - following the life of Christ as events unfold sequentially. It is a great book for anyone who wants to incorporate a little spiritual reflection into their life – and in this crazy world, who doesn’t need that?

After many years of hearing the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Robert Dunne has completed the remarkable task of using the gospels to create a cohesive story of Jesus’ public ministry. His book, “909 Days That Changed the World” has allowed me to not only begin to understand but also appreciate how Jesus’ role as both God and man evolved during these 909 days. If you are someone who believes in the power of prayer, I strongly recommend reading “909 Days that Changed the World”. For me, reading a chapter a day was an inspiring way to move closer to Jesus. What began as a daily ritual transformed into an excellent opportunity to enjoy some quiet time after a busy day, reading and reflecting on the word of God found in the gospels. By reading my favorite stories in select chapters, I was able to gain a new and deeper understanding and appreciation for the message of the gospels. When Jesus asked the blind man, Bartimeaus, “What do you want me to do for you? ”, he replied, “Master, I wish to see.” His response should serve as a lesson to all of us. The book “909 Days that Changed the World” serves as a powerful tool to allow us “to see” what God wants for us. I strongly recommend this book as a special gift to anyone, including oneself, seeking a closer relationship with Jesus. Tom Monahan Park Ridge, NJ

After reading the New Testament, reading “909 Day’s That Changed the World” by Robert J. Dunne III was the perfect next step in my pursuit of religious understanding, faith, and hope. While I believe that Jesus walks with me in my heart, this book helped me to walk with Him along the path of His public ministry. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live with Jesus during His life? If so, reading this book is about as close as it gets. Bob does an amazing job of putting us in the setting, explaining the relevant biblical context, and suggesting appropriate reflections to help us “walk the walk.” I highly recommend this book to people in all phases of Christian faith on their path to everlasting life. As a Catholic, I tried to learn more about Catholicism and other religions. I read gospels and books of the bible, many of them multiple times. I also attended numerous bible study classes. Yet, there were some chapters and phrases I did not understand what they truly meant and why. This book met all three requirements for a good book should meet. This book explained many important points so clearly and answered to many of my questions, parables in particular. It was informative! This book was very easy to read, even to non-native English speakers like myself, yet powerful. I almost felt I was travelling with Jesus. It was persuasive! The present tense form through the entire book also kept me excited as if it were a spy novel. It was interesting! Reading this book made me imagine that I was travelling with Jesus and his disciples. A couple of good maps, one old and one current, could have made my imagination much more realistic. I highly recommend this book to Christians as well as non-Christians, particularly to those people like me who read bibles but still did not quite understand true meanings and why behind those words. It would a great gift item for friends, Christians or not. Byoung Sung (Sunny) Kim, PhD West Windsor, NJ February 21, 2015

This is an exceptional book – a must read for anyone looking to better understand both the life of Jesus and his message.  Just putting the Gospels in chronological order would have been a useful contribution.  However, Mr. Dunne’s book goes much further.   This easy to read narrative fills in the blanks around Jesus 2 ½ year ministry, giving the reader a new perspective around events which we think we already know well and to Jesus’ message of hope, love and forgiveness.  By doing so, Mr. Dunne makes Jesus’ life come alive with a more vibrant personality that one might miss by merely reading the Gospels.   If you are looking for an entertaining, uplifting book, this is a great fact-based novel.  On the other hand if you are looking for a book to enhance your spiritual life, this book is an invaluable resource.  It is written in a series of short chapters making it easy to read one chapter per day and contemplate on the message being delivered.

As a Catholic priest who is well acquainted with many books about the life of Christ, I can honestly say that this book by Robert J. Dunne lies at the top of the list of those that I have benefited from.  After hearing me deliver a homily, people often tell me that I am a wonderful "story teller."  I have to say that I think that Mr. Dunne is a better story teller than people say that I am. Now, before before preparing a homily about some event in Our Blessed Lord's life, I go to Mr. Dunne's book to see how HE describes it.  More importantly, I refer to this book to help me in my prayer life.  When I was in the Seminary we were urged to spend time each day in, what we call, "spiritual reading."  This book is perfect for fulfilling that role.  The nice part of it all is that it is not only inspirational and instructive but also "entertaining" (if I may use that word!):  it is a pleasure and a joy to read.  Mr. Dunne should be commended for achieving a goal which more than a few "spiritual" writers fail to achieve.  I would certainly recommend this book to everyone who wants to get to know Jesus better and who wants to be touched by the life he led for the last 909 days of his ministry. I have just finished reading this book, which gave me such insight to Jesus" ministry.  The timeline, along with a map in the beginning of the book allowed me to imagine being in these places and to hear him speak.  It really connected a lot of the dots from the readings and the gospels that we hear in church!  Thank you Mr. Dunne for giving such a new and different perspective.

After years of sitting in church and listening to the readings this book put into context how the last 900 days of Christ's life transpired. Not only was the reading informative it was very easy to read,. The book allowed you to think about each passage and at the time told the story of Christ's life. I would recommend this book to all.

Bishop of Trenton Recommends "909 Days that Changed the World" OFFICE OF THE BISHOP To the Readers of “909 Days That Changed the World:” I have been a Catholic priest for over three decades and a bishop for almost five years. In that time, I have read the Holy Scriptures daily, building on my own studies over the years. I have also had the humbling privilege of preaching on those texts, especially the Gospels, to God's people. Frequently, I have reflected after giving a sermon: "did I get it right?" Even more personally I have asked: "did I deliver God's Word, God's message to His people?" After reading Bob Dunne's amazing book, I had the good feeling that he "got it right." I know Bob and his wife Paula. They are active members of a local parish in the Diocese of Trenton and the proud parents of three beautiful children. As bishop, a Successor to the Apostles, there is genuine satisfaction in reading Bob's poignant reflections on the Man whom we call "Lord," the Christ who first called those Apostles to follow him and upon whom he "built his Church." In a succession of short but accessible chapters, Bob succeeds in bringing the four Gospels together as they re-introduce us to the God-Man of two thousand years ago, to the Lord Jesus who is with us still. He "got it right," so much so that my studies and reading and preaching of many years found still more about Him to inform my sermons and, more personally, to nourish my soul. If spiritual reading can still offer a "wow factor" after all these years, Bob's writing does it with ease and conviction. Each chapter leads its readers more deeply into the mysteries of our Gospel faith, into the mysteries of Jesus Christ, making us want to know more, to "be" more, to do more. This is a book that committed Christians need to read. It offers a compelling guide for evangelization, "ever ancient, ever new (St. Augustine)." Respectfully yours in the Lord, Most Reverend David M. O’Connell, C.M., J.C.D. Bishop of Trenton

I thoroughly enjoyed 909 Days … it was if I was reading a loving note from an old dear friend. The Bible may be difficult to read and understand, but not this wonderfully written new book by Robert Dunne. The story Robert tells about the ministry of Jesus Christ is easy to follow and comprehend. The book gives us context and chronology we have not understood or learned before. The author balances the history and biblical references with a contemporary language we can all relate to and utilize to vividly imagine each scene and event. For my money, this is a much more compelling and interesting story than the NY Times Best Selling book written by Bill O’Reilly! I highly recommend you take the short amount of time it takes to read this educational and captivating story! You won’t be disappointed. Patrick J. What an amazing book to "walk thru" the ministry life of Christ. Realizing the life of Jesus', the death and his resurrection, He satisfied God's penalty for sin and we who believe in this, are invited into God's presence. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace" (Heb. 4:16) Because of Jesus we can come to God through prayer anywhere, anytime. Great book, great read.

This is a terrific book! It is a chronological account of the last 2 1/2 years of the life of Jesus. Mr. Dunne is an excellent writer and takes us through this journey in short chapters, giving us the opportunity to reflect on the gospel passages at our own pace. For me it put the many gospels in logical order and helped me appreciate the remarkable life and teachings of Jesus. I highly recommend this book.
