Devyn McCar's life was turning out exactly the way he had dreamed it would. He'd just graduated with a Marine Biology degree in the top three percent of his class and was ready to ask his high school sweetheart to spend the rest of her life with him. But in a sick turn of events one night on the beach in Santa Monica, his life changed forever. His soon-to-be fianc was raped and murdered ten feet away from where he lay dying from a potentially fatal knife wound.

Devyn battled his way back, only to begin a spree of revenge that led inexplicably to the Defense Information Systems Agency and a suicide intelligence-gathering assignment. Surprised by his resourcefulness, DISA hired Devyn as a mercenary in a bloody war against the Colombian drug cartels; a war whose battles DISA would have to fight from the inner cities of Vancouver, Los Angeles and New York, to the depths of the Colombian mountains and rainforest.

His dreams shattered, his emotions a fading memory, Devyn finds he is redirected into the fight of his life, this time in a war which takes him from the most pathetic scum on the street to the most powerful men in the world as part of a secret, high-stakes anti-drug team called the Doves.
