From USA Today bestselling authors Gin Jones and Elizabeth Ashby comes a brand new mystery...
It's Independence Day weekend, and Maria Dolores, the descendant of Danger Cove's first lighthouse keeper, is the new manager of the Lighthouse Farmers' Market. While she may be a bit uncertain about her career change—trading financial planning for flower stalls and farm fresh produce—she's still determined to get the market into shape and onto one of the region's "best of" lists.
From the very beginning, though, events conspire against her. Her mentor and attractive local farmer, Merle Curtis, fails to show up to introduce her to the vendors, the stalls are all in the wrong place, and an earthquake shakes up everyone in the market! In its aftermath, Maria realizes the flower vendor is more than shaken up... she's dead. Maria suddenly finds herself embroiled in a small town mystery that's got everyone on edge. Will it all lead to the end of Maria's new career? Or worse yet... her life?

About Danger Cove:
Danger Cove is a sleepy little town in the Pacific Northwest and home to renowned mystery novelist, Elizabeth Ashby. Don't let our name fool you—we're the friendliest (even if deadliest) town in the Pacific Northwest!
About the Author
Elizabeth Ashby was born and raised in Danger Cove and now uses her literary talent to tell stories about the town she knows and loves. Ms. Ashby has penned several Danger Cove Mysteries, which are published by Gemma Halliday Publishing. While she does admit to taking some poetic license in her storytelling, she loves to incorporate the real people and places of her hometown into her stories. She says anyone who visits Danger Cove is fair game for her poisoned pen, so tourists beware! When she's not writing, Ms. Ashby enjoys gardening, taking long walks along the Pacific coastline, and curling up with a hot cup of tea, her cat, Sherlock, and a thrilling novel.
Gin Jones became a USA TODAY bestselling author after too many years of being a lawyer who specialized in ghostwriting for other lawyers. She much prefers writing fiction, since she isn't bound by boring facts and she can indulge her sense of humor without any risk of getting thrown into jail for contempt of court. In her spare time, Gin makes quilts, grows garlic, and advocates for rare disease patients.

A very good book in a great series!! This is a good read when relaxing in the sun!!
I enjoyed this book so much I read it in less than a day. I couldn't put it down! If you've enjoyed the other danger cove mysteries you should enjoy Maria Dolores!
I was already a fan of the Danger Cove multi-author series and a big fan of Gin Jones's other series so it is no surprise that I really enjoyed A Death in the Flower Garden and look forward to more books in the series. The plot was both intelligently presented throughout and reasonable from the justification for the murder to the encounter between murder and victim. There were clues to the murderer but they were not obvious. I like and connected with Maria Delores, main character, as well as Carl, Merrill, and Tom; I have to like the main characters to enjoy any book. The antagonists were well done and not over played. I hope Henry moves to the friend side but it will take time if it is going to happen. He is a strong character even if he is a bit of curmudgeon. Maria Delores has been a finance manager for her whole career but has now taken over a small open market that sets up on weekends and holidays. It is a cozy mystery so you know what is going to happen on the very first day but a murder is just one of the surprises she has to face. Also typical for a cozy mystery, she said too much about her suspicions to too many people. Other than that the novel stands out as unique in the world of cozy mysteries. I am not sure if the main character's first and last name is Maria Delores or if that is the name she goes by. I won an advanced readers' copy of A Death in the Flower Garden from Gin Jones, the author. I signed up for the Facebook contest because I enjoy all of Gin Jones books written alone or in conjunction with Elizabeth Ashby, but I keep wondering if Elizabeth Ashby is real, after all she lives in Danger Cove. I always review books that I enjoy and I truly enjoyed my weekend in Danger's Cove.
Death in the Flower Garden is the next installment of the Danger Cove series. This is the first in the Danger Cove Farmers’ Market series. Like all the previous books in this series they can be read independently of the others. Maria a former financial planner and descendent of the first lighthouse keeper runs into trouble right away has decided to run an independent farmers market on weekends and holidays. Issues start right away, stalls are not set up right, an earthquake and a dead body. Yikes. Maria is thrown into town gossip and trying to find a murderer. I think the story was well done and was a fast read and kept me engaged and trying to figure out who it was til the end. Definitely recommend.
