A Good Man's Sin by Dee Kelly

Have you ever heard that those who don't learn from their past will live to repeat it? This is a story about Jessie, a teen in search for Christian values, although he has little education of such virtues. His struggle to find those virtues is strained when in competition with human flaws. He confuses lust for love in a teen world lacking in moral supervision, and on a stage of a community driven on competition and the success of their own. The challenges he will face create a faith in him that will surpass the sin in his life, but it comes at a price with the many relationships he encounters. He will rise to the top of his throne in a football world against great odds, and will be crowned king of his land with the help of the girl alrready ordained by the town. In a violent world of sexual intrigue, he will find a lover obsessed with him, and a belief that her witchcraft could afford him the ultimate pleasures. He would be tested through faith in handling a self-proclaimed witch and a small kingdom, which makes him their hero, when all he ever wanted was what he couldn't have, the girl that seemed as much an angel as the other a witch. His journey would start in the cold murky waters of the Cowhouse Creek, and he would have to learn from his past, or risk everything in repeating it.

Awesome read...lots of fun chacters...anybody growing up and going to high shcool, college and the after college days can certainly relate. The book captures the one common theme that makes or breaks a man in reality...and that is his continous battle with sex. Entire empires have be brought down from a good man's sin...Troy for one. It has been a ageless battle for men and this book opens the truth and reality of how men and men coming of age deal with the most beautiful and tempting thing God put on this earth...women!

If you can handle details of competitions in sports, the facts of historical events that are compared to the society of the characters in this story, then you will love the romance shaped in this different story of lust vs. love. The story will tug at your scruples as you push for the underdog, but the connection to lessons in life will pull at you even harder. Is this a lesson connected to Christian virtues, or man's feudal attempt to clear a lustful life of sin by finally realizing what unconditional love really is? You've got to hand it to the author though, it is a romance like I've never seen before. My hats off to this unique type of story, and where in the world did the author come up with this small town football scheme? I searched for six-man football in these tiny Texas ghost towns on my computer. And guess what, it does exist! I have to see one of these games. If there is anything you really want to take from this book, it is the connection to the story of the Bible and God's forgiveness. We all fail when it comes to sin, and this story shows our imperfections.

What a fun story! I thought I was growing up all over again, except I was a much better athlete and moved to a country town I was totally lost in. This story throws the old romance novel into controversy, but it is really inspiring and fun. I love sports, and I have gained close friendships throughout the years by partaking in them. I wonder if the author had many of these experiences he talks about in this story. I know it is made up in story line, but there are so many details that come at you so life like, I would think the author experienced many of them. I would love to know more about this book. How do I do that? Is there a website or a question and answer over the book? I have not found the author anywhere else, is he a new author? If so, I want to know when his next book will be out, and if it will be similar to this one. I hope so, I'm about to read this one again!
