It all began with a little white lie.

Stuck at the grocery store with no way to get home, September Blessing accepts the only help available - that of cute bag handler, James Davis. After all, he went to Ferris High, has a job, and seems nice.

But a day later, a string of unforeseen circumstances and the start of a horrible rumor tears their true love apart. It looks like the only way for them to be together will be by telling a little white lie.

However, lies have a way of multiplying, and soon, the fiction they've created threatens to split them up, once and for all.

A story about the power of telling the truth from best-selling young adult author, SUZANNE D. WILLIAMS.

This story is a veritable treasure trove of excellent lessons that apply to life in general. These lessons permeate through the entire journey that September inexplicably finds herself on. While she may not have chosen the events that happened to her, she most definitely had control over how she reacted and dealt with them. When I look at her I see the typical person and their reaction. Our benefit is in seeing her choices both good and bad and resolving to make better choices when we find ourselves in similar situations. We can’t control the behavior of others, but we most definitely can control our own behavior. On an ordinary day, September finds herself thrust into a very uncomfortable and life altering turn of events. She discovers an innocent and precious love that she never knew she was missing, and she is determined to keep it in her life. September discovered many road blocks and speed bumps along the way to reaching her goal. How she dealt with those situations was sometime good and sometimes not so good. She got confused and highly distracted while traveling along this road. Thankfully, she stumbled upon a major roadblock that diverted her movement to the path that would lead her back to her first love and would show her how she could fix her mistakes along the way. This story could easily be interpreted as a modern day parable. It illustrates how we have found our one true love in Jesus Christ, been torn away from Him by daily life and its struggles, settled for something less but more convenient, and then when things seem at their worst and utterly hopeless, He sweeps in and rescues us. It is an incredible example of how we all have made mistakes along the path of our life, and we will continue to make the same mistakes unless we refocus our eyes on Him. He is the sweetest and most intoxicating love that we will ever find, so we need to make sure that we don’t walk away and settle for a less than perfect version of His love just because it is easier and doesn’t require us to put forth the effort to keep following Him. I totally feel in love with this story from Suzanne D. Williams! It was such a raw and breath-taking view into how we deal with our faith from day to day. No one is perfect, but if we keep Him in our heart, He will walk beside us and pick us back up whenever we fall. He knows how we really are, and He only asks that we give Him what He has given us – His love, His life, and His heart.
