This is not the typical Santa story. Nor are the other three books in The Santa Diaries series. In this fun filled story, Santa and his elves are forced to try and keep up with modern technology in their effort to manufacture and delivery toys to a growing and more modern world. With The Mrs. looking over his shoulder, he 'they' finally succeed in their endeavor and the Christmas deliveries are successfully made. This is not the end of Santa's problems, as you'll find when you read the other two books in the series.

Readers looking for a great story with lots of humor will find it in A NEW FANGLED CHRISTMAS by Betsy Haynes. This laugh-prompting book is the first in her Santa Diaries series. If you think Santa Claus has it made and leads a ho-hum life at the North Pole, think again. Something new has upset his plans, his thinking, and his snowy world. COMPUTERS! Not only does Santa have to learn to deal with on/off switches, icons, and screen savers, he has to convince his loyal elves to enter the 21st century with him and learn how to make the new electronic toys today¿s kids are demanding. Santa knows he can¿t teach 722 elves to change their toy-making ways by Christmas. How can he persuade an elf 417 years old to try something new? The task is easier once Nerdly the techie steps in to help. The elves protest. They go on strike. To learn how Santa handles these new problems, you¿ll have to read the book. WARNING: Danger ahead. Be prepared to die laughing!
